That's why FIAT has managed so many love-hate relationships. Suppose, if you have bought a Punto now & never go through any of the wishes that expert colleague had about FIAT, he won't feel good at all. Moreover when you start loving your FIAT & realize everything else is below par, the colleague will end up hating FIAT.

Don't worry that's all blind shooting in the air. Around 1 month back, one of our neighbor called for a Figo test drive. The executive also offered me a test drive. I said thanks, i am not looking for a car. He insisted so I drove it around 20 mtrs, took a U-turn & handed over the key back to him. With due respect to him, That's how i liked & felt about Figo. Nice car, keep it up but i already have one. I signed towards a T-Wine Punto 90HP parked a few mtrs away. He smiled & said that it's his favorite car. He was a FIAT enthusiast. I could understand his view while being a professional, but your colleague is just outrageous with his comments. He is not going to make any money from Ford.

Punto is a different car altogether. Again you may not realize this to full extent during your daily city drives. But When you take it down where rubber roasts & smells, the "fittest will survive situation", you won't see any other car alongside Punto. It's alone all the way to the finish line.
Just pardon you colleague for egoistic attitude & go with your heart. I assure this will be one of memorable decision of your life & you will pet yourself. On TFI, we would be smiling while reading your comments because when it comes to FIAT, we know the future.

Technically, the Ford 1.4 (8 valves, single cam) is pretty outdated by today's standards. I mean, who runs 8 valves and a single camshaft on 4 cylinder engine in 2012 !! Ford. :)

The Multijet has 16 valves and double camshafts. Much modern setup.

    Cheers.

Just for you to know the class of FIAT's engine technology, have a look at what all cars are using FIAT engines globally (apart from Maruti, TATA and Premiere in India).

JTD engine - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

FIAT is the pioneer in CRDi development. If only they didn't sell it to Bosch.

You have rightly felt the truth in your heart, the world will be hell bent to confuse you among chaos, hide the truth & it's about cars this time:p. Don't worry FIAT's not bad at all by any stretch of imagination. It's none of your fault if someone else is not matured enough. Technical or non-technical, we can sell them for peanuts (without any auction:mrgreen:). As soon as some ABC will surpass, we will be the first one to acknowledge & praise that.
whatever you freeze upon, don't turn a deaf ear to your heart. Follow it even if it goes for something that is Non-FIAT.
Best wishes for your car hunting Bro...:up

It is clear by now that Fiat cars do not sell well in India and month after month there is talk(in other Forums mainly) that "Fiat will close down". Relax, Fiat will not just not close down, it will outlast many of its rivals in India and I'll tell you why. Most hatches and sedans have a Fiat diesel engine under their bonnet! Yes, Fiat sells lakhs of engines every year and is a very rich company. For that reason alone, it will never be affected if it sells less cars because overall they I am sure must be in massive profits.

The positive side is that your car will not be very common like the Swifts and Wagon Rs which go in a line on every road in India, rattling away. There are no rattles in Fiats which are quite solid while being good to drive which you can't say of Bolero which is also solid for that matter ;-). You will be a member of an elite club because not many have the guts to own a Fiat because they lack the power of conviction with which they can buy a car that they like driving.

They would rather listen to the GTOs and PTOs of forums and the cr*p written in their 1000 post monthly sales report thread.....while an ugly ad comes up from the right bottom corner which enables the PTOs and GTOs of their forum to make a living online. The more cr*p that you go and write the more they earn through the ad that comes up each time from right bottom corner(ugh). Pity is that the stupid fellows who are victims of such commercial forums go to their offices and belch out the same sh*t that is written in those forums to their colleagues.

Sorry to ask a stupid question, as I said I am new to cars. What is Auto climate control and its benefits?

---------- Post added at 12:54 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:50 PM ----------

Some people even take this to their advantage saying "marutis also has the same engine so why do you go for costly Punto" type of arguments. I understand it is built like a tank and ride quality is superior, but being new to car driving can i feel the difference? Do you think i should go step by step starting from maruti and hyundai and reach to punto and audi levels...???

ACC allows you to set a specific temperature and the car AC unit controls the temperature within the car including re-circulation of air etc.

Who said Punto is expensive - FYI Swift ZDI retails at 7.82 without a penny in discount, You could be buy a 90HP at that cost within 15-20 days. If you can't feel the difference in Punto - Please don't buy it!

No offense meant, but you seem to be really confused and seem to listen every BS people dish out. End of the day it's your money - Buy a car for your needs not because others say X is better than Y etc
