Finally getting around to writing an intro, though I have been hanging about on TFI for a while. So just saying hello, and a big thanks to the mods for the fantastic job in keeping this site firing on all cylinders! I am a native of Goa, and been working in Bangalore for a few years now. Got meself a Punto MJD 90HP sport, DJZ VIN (APR14), pearl white with black top. (without all the stickering, as I think the car looks better that way, and also keeps the hole in the pocket slightly smaller ) I have been carcrazy ever since I can remember, and just love to drive and maintain my ride. Things I like about the Punto: Great handling and stability at all speeds, confidence-inspiring braking and suspension, good ground clearance (it has never scraped any speedbreaker), quite a few intelligent features built in Things I wish were better: Gear-shift slightly notchy, could do with remote boot opener and steering reach adjustment. The media player integration with HU also leaves a bit to be desired. The first time I took the car long distance was to Goa, over the year-end break. Both wife and me drove, though the key was handed over rather reluctantly to the wife . I assume most of us would feel the same, finding the passenger seat ever so slightly uncomfortable compared to being in the driver's seat Total distance covered (city+highway): ~1700km Average consumption : Blr-Goa 21kmpl , Goa-Blr 19kmpl ( this is due to Bangalore being at a higher altitude and having to climb up all the way, and not at all because of me ripping and sparring with swifts and vernas and such . Though whenever the wife drives, kmpl goes up a bit) Anyway, sharing some pics of our trip here. The journey itself was smooth and the car performed flawlessly. The roads also were excellent. Route taken : NH4 till Hubli -> NH63 till Ankola -> NH17 all the way into Goa Taking a breather on NH4 Blasting through the ghats on NH63 The beach at Karwar Out of Karwar on NH17 On the way to our family farm-house. Le me chasing bro driving the red Palio. Both the Italian beauties at harmony with nature One more Stuff I have gifted my ride for Christmas Valve caps Water blade 3m clay (one used up to take off all the highway grime) Handmade SS exhaust tip Thanks for reading my intro-cum-travelogue!
