    Hey,

I'll be leaving to my hometown in comming weekend with my PUNTO (hope i didn't get any issue with this car on highway :p ) .

    - Do let me know what to get check in car before leaving for 1000Kms plus drive?
    - After how much Kms car need to be stop in between to avoid overheating?
    - Tyre pressure to be maintained for 2 people in car?

Any other things to be keep in mind...?

Just drive and don't worry about anything.

Nothing, just check once all the liquid's level, engine oil, coolant etc.
You can easily drive non-stop till Varanasi, if you can.
    32 - 34, depending on your comfort.

The distance should be nearly 700-800 KM, it will not overheat.

aashish, i have driven 1150 kms in one day in one of my trips and so have couple of other tfians so rest assured your punto will take it with ease!

i am not sure about the road conditions of your route but considering its part of GQ (NH2), it should be pretty good.

And the distance is around 800 kms from gurgaon to varanasi one way along NH2 so it should be pretty much doable in a single day barring heavy traffic conditions if any. I would suggest you to search for travelogues for this route on the internet and read them if you find. this would help in estimating the time your journey will take.

below links might be of help:

Don't forget to check the tyre pressure in the stepney.

    Hello All.

Yesterday i had completed my journey from Gurgaon to my hometown of 1024Kms and time taken was 20 hrs in single stretch.. will upload pics for the same

As per comment from TFian about NH-2 route.. it was really amazing experience..ultimate route till Varanasi. No confusion at all as i was hoping to be in bad condition road as it was all through uttar pradesh but i was wrong. New highway built for varanasi and i drove to 40 km continuously at speed of 110-120Kmph. Although it was 100km stretch and it seems that i was driving in some other country(though i haven't went none :p ).
