even i got the AC update done last friday and notice the engine feels less loaded with AC on...also the fuel efficiency has increased by about 2kmpl
Earlier i was getting 13.7 -14...now its consistently showing 15.6.

Agreed to vikastiwari2503 after AC update the FE increased gradually. With 100% city driving and 100% AC on I am getting 15.4 kmpl, previously I was getting in between 13-14 kmpl. I never got FE more than 14 kmpl before the AC update.

    Kudos to FIAT INDIA :)

    Dear Mr. fiatlover,

Can you pl. let me know what do you mean by AC upgrade?

Should I also need to do the same if I but the Car in the month of July'2011?

How much it cost? To whom I should approach for this?

Can you please let me know the pros and cons of Fiat Punto 1.4 Emotion as you are a owner of this particular model.

    BR,

As far as I know, AC upgrade is only applicable to Puntos manufactured before Aug 2010. AC upgrade is a FIAT initiative and is done under warranty. You don't need to pay for it. Post AC upgrade, the AC perfomance has improved considerably. Engine has become more responsive, and mileage has improved too.
For more details, see the thread on AC upgrade: http://www.teamfiat.co.in/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=890

As far as 1.4 Emotion is concerned, I have been owning this car for last one and half year and I didnt find anything negative about Punto. It gives me reasonable(read as good) mileage, compared to other cars in this segment. It has amazing stability on highways, which is due to the solid build quality. There may be critics who complain that Punto has low ground clerance. They should probably check the GC of competitor models. A lot depends on how you drive. I have driven on some of the the worst roads in Karnataka and Kerala in the first six months and I didnt find GC an issue. So, I strongly believe that what happens to your car depends on how handle it.
Don't blindly trust what some one says, also go the ownership reports. That will give you more info.

Just returned from a trip to Kolhapur and back.
    The Trip B Meter recorded:
    Distance - 490 kms.
    Driving Time - 10.30 hrs
Mileage - 27.1 kms per litre :dance
I kept the RPM needle hovering around 1500.
(Yes. It's boring and tested my patience).
    I can't post photos since I don't possess a camera. :A
However, should anyone wish to come over, the data is still displayed there as of now. :anyone
