By saying so i think you are being modest. In practical scenarios we should call them idiots or fools.:(

Friends FE is good in fiat , but it depend on your driving style.
One common thing i notice in fiat user is , drive like a racer car,

For first ,second ,third gear change beetween 2000 to 2250
After third to forth change at 2250 to 2500,
At fifth gear maintain speed at 80 km/h
Then increase with time up to 100 km or 110 km 0r 120 km as per road and traffic condition,

    And then check fe

Another example of magical FE from my side...
    - Pune - Panvel, Expressway,
    - 4 adults + 1 kid on-board
    - Packed trunk
    - 40% AC
    - Cold weather :D

Recently i had travel from Mumbai to Aurangabad and back to mumbai via Khuldabad- Chalisgoan- Malegoan- Mumbai. Covered around 850 kms and got an FE around 17.5 km/l and driving around 100-110 km/hr.

FE that i got look fine to me but experts can comment on that.

    @chakiirfan
Please mantion average speed of car from odo,
With total km and odo average fe,
17.5 is 100 and 110 is good if average speed below 40 km per hr,But if average speed above 55km per hr,Then 17.5 is less
For 75 hp 19 and above is normal with 55 km average
May be 17.5 due to city driving
    Try this
When you leave city then set b trip with highway
And check highway performance of car
For best FE every 1000 km clean filter at home
    With air pressure

People getting lowet mileage please check the condition of the air filter. A clogged air filter can reduce the mileage sifnifisignificantly.

If one drives in dusty conditions, it is advisable to change the airfilter every 5k kms. The cost of the air filter is recovered easily by way of better mileage.
