    B2B @60-70kmph!! ::OO
    Wow. Here the B2B speeds are 10-20kmph and you have to crawl in 1st and 2nd gears. City speeds with moderate traffic are around 40kmph.

    As the highway is a 2 lane there is B to B traffic. It is due to a guy driving right in front of all the vehicles at around 70 kms speed. Because of the 2 lane & vehicles coming in the opposite direction overtaking is not possible & forced to drive at around 60 - 70 kms speed B to B.

    I bettered my own record of 24.9km/l to 26km/l :dance :dancing

    Driving condition:
    1. Empty road
    2. Most beautiful"lest" road in Kerala
    3. Heavy rain
    4. Around 10 humps
    5. RPM always between 1100 and 1800
    6. Speed 60-70km/hr

    [attachment=0:85dvuf65]107km.jpg[/attachment:85dvuf65]

    On the same route during return trip I managed 21.5km/l
    Driving condition:
    a. 1, 2 and 4 above holds
    b. RPM between 1300 and 2100
    c. Speed 80-90km/hr

    Again on the same route 2 weeks back I got 15.5km/l
    Driving condition:
    a. 1, 2 and 4 above holds
    b. RPM between 1800 and 2700
    c. Speed 90-120km/hr

    Moral of the story : Given the same driving condition the driver decides what mileage he wants from the MJD which can have variation of almost 10.5km/l

    Pran! Amazing! Thats indeed a "world" record on Kerala roads by a Punto! :)

    When the RPM is below, say, 1300 or so, I feel that the engine is straining - like 45-55 Kmph @ 5th. So I usually downshift the moment RPM is below 1200 or so. Or is it ok to drive @ 5th @ 1100-1300 RPM for a long period? (Have heard that in the run in period, the engine should see frequent variation in RPM (but not above 2000 or so) and gears, but my doubt is for a properly run in engine)

    City - 15.5 - 16.5 km/l (very short runs upto 6km. Half the distance engine is not fully warm, without AC)
    City - 17 - 18 km/l (longer runs, engine warmed up, 30% on AC)

    Highway - 22 km/l (rpm under 2000, without AC - with AC it becomes 20 km/l)

    Odo: 2400 km
    Tough to drive Punto @ 60km/h on an open highway.. :)

    Ive got an FE of 26km/l on my trip to daman.. The next trip got 24..

    This is very true for the MJD... Its the drive who decides the FE for the MJD.. It delivers both performance and great FE...

    The car feels smoother and peppier after my BCM was replaced (not sure if it has anything to do with it). Some updated observations about my FE. With weather being good, I'm driving without a/c and the FE I'm getting(during my daily commute) is 15-16km/lt as per AcB which includes morning city traffic and stopping at a traffic light or two. This FE is when I move with the traffic.

    They call it Body Computer Module, its some sort of box and would surely have some chips, etc inside it. Its specific to a engine and is configured using some hand held device. It was replaced for me as the rear wiper and washer jets were not functional.
