I fully agree with ramjn. In my first free service also TAFE charged Rs.80/= for the wind washer fluid. Balance ALL oil/liquid free topup with through car exterior and interior washing. One more thing I want to add the SA suggested me to do under chassis painting/coating. But I want to witness before to do that. Agreed and along with me gone to the bay, lifted the vehicle Really nothing happened/ scratched/scrapped - EXCEPT 100 mm approx. length of that original coating peeled off. SA agreed my version and not done. Infact I came to know that the original OEM coating long last for atleast three years.

 

I think during free service, labor should be charged only if a part is replaced. Replacement of brake pads is one such, but they cannot charge more than Rs.400-500 for that. As far as I know, during free service, only labor is free and all consumables are chargeable. As labor for replacing brake pads is already charged in the bill, the Final Labor invoice amount of Rs.2095 should be struck off!
And I don't understand what that "minor service" is about!

 

Engine oil should be 3.2 litres. You were charged for 4L.
Minor service every 15000 km and charging 650 for it??? There shouldnt be any charge in Free service for stuff replaced under warranty/normal consumables (oil filter, fuel filter etc)
Wheel alignment and balancing is free. only the weights should be charged. Best way is not to get these done at TASC. Do this at a good tyre shop outside.
All in all you were cheated by the service centre. Ask them to refund money for extra oil charged and labour charge.

Rs.2095 is consolidated price for all labour charges incurred. The minor serviece they claimed is to clean and lubricate all parts. I was in a hurry at the time of leaving my vehicle, this is a lesson I learnt that we should be composed and look through throughly and question them if there is some grey area. I am sure who ever going thro this thread will execute extra cautious when leaving the vehicle and fight for the allignment for free of cost.

In Concord Engine oil is kept loose, I mean might be in a big barrel. There is a chance that they could measure 3.2 L but in VST they have the engine Oil in small Cans of 1 liter each. So they say that they cannot measure the exact required oil, but ofcourse if they are sincear in helping customers they can definetely do that.

I am talking with them about my concerns they said they will get back to me.

Can you please check with them whether they will sell these 1 ltr cans so that we can keep 1 -2 cans with us and use it when required ?

Because @ the place where I serviced , they were storing it in barrels and they were ready to get it for me from their main branch . But by that time i returned to chennai .

how can they charge 2000+ as labour for free service...I am attaching my invoice of 2nd service which was done on feb 28, 2012.

 

My First Free service was done last month Nov from Prerana Motors Peenya where they charged 100/- for the windshield fluid and other topups of fluids were done (as per SA) and duly washed and returned, not suspecting them i was driving around with out any glitches only when i got it checked from Sharp cars pre-check for the long journey to TFI factory meet surprised to see : Engine oil was low and black in color i had no choice but to replace the oil before the trip.. :-(

 

Can you please tell where is this Sharp Cars located and their expertise ??

 

Its a car garage near my house BSK 3rd stage, they do all types of jobs Service, Body shop, painting for all types of cars, i usually go for small works or fixing issues for my car. Before starting to Pune i went there for checking the liquid levels, when he put the dip stick in to check the oil level there was no oil at all, a small drop at the end of the stick black in color was found, We checked for any leaks below and nothing was found, i told him to check once again and no oil at all i was surprised and down in front of him as i was sure it was given for service a month back with assurance that all liquids were topped up .. :-(
