    Thanks, @S A SHAH.

    Mine is W8 FWD [2x2] version.

    There is W8 AWD version, which is costlier by atleast ₹ 1.25 lakh than W8 FWD.

    On 8 Sep 2014, my XUV 500 drove upto Udhampur and could not proceed further due to unprecedented flood in Srinagar.

    @J Ravi ,
    Thanks for your responses. That means W8 front wheel drive. Come on Sir, if you spent 14 lac why not 15.2 lac ? though it is personal choice. I like XUV500 just like I love FIAT, this is the only Indian SUV that satisfies the driving-enthusiast. I wish to have this car but it is overall expensive for me (4x4 w8 option), after driving T-jet this is the only SUV that can go with my right-foot.
    In Sept 2014, where did you intend to visit ? that was very unfortunate month for Srinagar city especially, still the thing are in shambles.
    Regards and stay blessed.

    Taking the risk of going off the topic in your beautiful thread, let me reply, @S A SHAH. My first option was W8 AWD only. But, none of the Mahindra dealers in Bangalore and Chennai had a W8 AWD for test-drive. Secondly, I had 4 test-drives of W8 FWD with 3 dealers in 2 cities! :) None of the sales executives painted an encouraging picture of getting W8 AWD. All discouraged me by saying that W8 AWD was custom-made to order with full payment in advance with a waiting period of more than a coupla months. That drove the final nail on the coffin of my desire to have W8 AWD and settled for W8 FWD with an unexpected saving of ₹ 1.25 lakh! :)

    We were on our way to Leh via Srinagar. But, due to unfortunate nature's fury, our second Ladakh trip got converted into our third HP trip! I will try to do it in this September. :)

    Dear TFIians,
    IT WAS A POINT TO REJOICE TODAY TO SEE THE WHOLE AMBIANCE COVERED WITH THE WHITE CRYSTALLINE BLESSING FROM ALMIGHTY WHICH BROUGHT SOME GLORY BACK TO VALLEY AND WAS LOOKING LIKE NOTHING HAD HAPPENED IN RECENT PAST, IN FACT COVERED THE ELEMENTS OF DESTRUCTION CAUSED BY GHOST-FLOODS OF SEP2014.

    The "SnowLeopard" rested in it's den today, the loyal Palio was with me to photo-shoot the breath-taking scenery after a week's cloudy/rainy days....please find some of the photos clicked today at 5.30PM.

    Absolutely fantastic pics. Some of them are wall paper worthy. In fact the Snow leopard and the Palio both are lucky to being driven in such breath taking scenes.

    Wish I was there to enjoy the weather.

    @ghodlur ,
    Thanks for liking the pictures, such scenes are very short-lived though the scenes vary depending upon the season and weather conditions. We need to capture such beautiful scenes at the moment when those appear.

    Today I took "SnowLeopard" for a ride at the same location and the scenes were quite different in appearance.
    Here are some of the shots.

    Thank You All for liking the pictures.
    These all pictures are dedicated to the ENTHUSIASM of all TFIians because all of us are having some thing in common that drives us to this forum and every body is contributing to our selfless association to each others. You see how TFIians respond to each others queries and suggest the remedies or at least feel concerned to each other.

    I was thinking of starting a thread, since long back, about "What are OUR likes, common possessions, thing like mobile phones, cameras, bikes if any, which clothes brands we like, hobbies which activities we like, etc etc.

    I'm seeking your approval, especially moderators
    , if such thread can be started. You know we are all KNOWN-STRANGERS to each others and let the KNOWN portion be more substantial and hence the STRANGERS portion will decrease automatically or say mathematically(more-KNOWN, less-STRANGERS).

    What do you guys say, please respond.
    With best wishes and regards.
    Stay Safe and Drive Belted.
    Dr S A SHAH
