Finally Reined the 'SNOW LEOPARD', My LineaTjet Plus.

The driving on the first day of snow should be avoided in order to avoid skids which can prove detrimental to the car as well as the inmates, the other slipping vehicles can also be damaging.
I only try to move on the NIT or University campuses to grab some moments.
Yes, I visit near by places when the roads are free of snow especially when sun shines, the roads are watery where you can move freely.
My normal routine is to visit my Home, 80 kms far away from Srinagar, on weekends without failure that lets me enjoy the joy of driving my Jet and lets me be connected to my roots,you know I'm a country-man who loves nature,simplicity and sincerity.
Hope, you got the idea of my "SnowLeopard's" prowling frequency, normally 1000 to 1100 Kms monthly. At NIT campus I've a garage but at country home it stays in open under-cover.

This building at NIT Srinagar is having Italy connection, it is built by an Italy company in 1986,presently housing the IT department.

 

Ya the danger of driving in snow are quite high. Last year I had to take my car due to some emergency during peak snowfall at night. At a place car started skidding and even after applying brakes the car went on its own. Tires were locked but it continued to move towards the edge of the road. We all got down and stopped the car from skidding with our hands. A min delay and I would have lost my beloved Fiat as it was some 200-300ft deep valley towards where car was skidding. So our SHAH sir must be knowing the dangers quite well as such instances are quite common during snowfall.

O,Dear, thank God you were safe. Yes, when the snow layer comes between road an the tyre, there is no contact between the two and you are practically in air without wings, you can drift in any direction. This highly dangerous,especially, in early mornings and late evenings when temperatures are low giving snow layer+water a freezing touch. So be aware of these conditions while driving....In such extreme conditions in snow the metallic chains should be used diagonally on tyres including the drive-tyre.
