    Hi all. I want to buy a car. My running is low, so will buy Petrol. After many TD, i have shortlisted the below cars
    1) Ford fieasta classic petrol - LXI (Rs 6.30 on road) / CLXI (Rs 7.30 on road)
    2) Chevrolet Aveo - 1.4 LS (Rs 6.60 on road)
    I like Linea, but cost is heavy. One dealer has 2011 model of Punto and Linea. Details are as below

    1)Linea -2011- Emo.pk (3 cars-silver,Golden,Merun) - Actual On road cost = 8.89;
    2)Punto - 2011-Emo pk (White) - On road cost = 6.95;
    Dynamic(silver)- on road cost = 5.19;
    I am planning to visit the showroom (150 km from my city) with one car mechanic and check the cars as per the TFI-PDI.
    If everything is fine then bargain the cost. He told me that he will give best offer.
    My questions are as below
    1) Ford & AVeo showroom and service is within my current city of residence. My job is bound to transfer. This is the advantage.
    But for Fiat, for every service, i have to travel 300 km for that city. As no showroom in my city. Tell me which car to buy....?
    2) If the cars are pass in PDI, then how much i can bargain the cost of each car.
    3) Also within linea & Punto, which is best buy....?

    Straight off I would not go in for the Aveo because its too old a car and you might have issues sourcing parts.
    Ford is a good choice considering you have a showroom close to you're place but be aware that AFAIK ford's parts are also expensive, But I feel the fiesta is a good buy.

    Linea and Punto , I love both and I will definitely suggest one amongst them from my heart.
    But from my head (considering you have to travel 300kms for service) I would say go with the ford.

    There is absolutely nothing wrong with the FIATs but since its difficult for you to commute to the service stations it would not make sense.
    This depends on you're choice of vehicle.
    If you want sedan then linea, if you want a hatchback then its the punto.

    Both Ford and Fiat are good cars, You should look at the feasibility of maintaining them at you're comfort then choose which brand.

    FORD will be a better choice for you. Its not practical to travel 300KM for service.we can say that service is once in a year and all but still for safer side better opt for FORD.

    bro! you are asking for another car's suggestion on an ALL FIAT LOVERS CLUB!! ;)

    JUST JOKING
    :)

    300km is not at all practical for anyone to travel to just get the car services done(even if its a yearly/15,000 km service later on). And also considereing the average no. of visits our fellow forum members have with the various minor problems :A (thanks to quality control at Ranjangaon :clap) to their respective service centers!! (have to say this with a very HEAVY HEART :sad: )

    You may end up taking frequent job leaves to get things sorted 300kms from your city :rage

    For hassle free ownership take up the fiesta. (since its got a service center located in your city!) :( (SAD DAY FOR A FIAT LOVER TO GIVE SUCH SUGGESTIONS)

    anyways happy and safe motoring buddy!!

    Thank you

    Thank u all, for your replies.
    I love Fiat - punto & Linea... But due to no dealership in my city, i am in dilemma.
    So wanted to hear from other TFIans. U gave me Practical decision.

    So all of u say not to go for Aveo - i like the looks. But heard less mileage.

    In fieasta classic, planning to buy Lxi - on road 6.33 lacks.
    Wats the mileage & performance..? Any negatives in it...?

    nesamani,
    what you want to buy "a hatchback or sedan" ? punto and linea both are good....
    in my buy i also considered about the service station:- as tata/fiat was in my city hence opted(Many reasons) punto as compared to all other brands(ford,VW) which was 45 Kms away :).Yours 300 Kms thats too much....

    Are you aware about TATA/FIAT joint venture ?

    like all of us have said here you might end up doing 300km trips often than you would like.So long as you dont have a showroom in the vicinity I would suggest you pick up the ford.

    PS:: I really really really hope MR Rajeev Kapoor is a TFI'an and he's reading this post.

    also you need to think about the long run....in future as and when a FIAT service center opens near your city/town and you feel like buying one...you can always trade ur fiesta :)

    aveo doesnt have any resale value (as far as i know)..fiesta for sure has a good resale tag!

    happy and safe driving!
