Though in pure business sense, it is the right way for FIAT. However, they are forgetting they do have another business of selling its own cars. Is this the first action of the new FIAT boss in India.

    All hail the engine supplier

I have voted NO simply because it gets even more harder to sell the punto if the swift is readily available off the shelf without any waiting periods.

Fiat can't afford not to sell the engines to Maruti.

Jayadev..it is true that DDIS engines are manufactured in Suzuki's own plant, but patenteted by FIAT. Maybe there are certain terms & conditions like this from FIAT.

  9. Even if MS cars comes with a Diesel engine other than Fiat's or only petrol engines, fellow Indians will buy it, because it is Maruthi... There might be marginal increase in Fiat's car sales... End of the day, what will happen to Fiat is, it will loose its income from selling the engines...
  10. 1.3 Multijet is used in these cars around the world (either directly procured from Fiat or manufactured under license)
