MILAN — Italian auto giant Fiat has recalled over 130,000 Fiat Puntos because of a possible problem with the anti-lock braking system that could cause a short circuit, a company spokesman said Thursday.
"The recall concerns over 130,000 vehicles including the Grande Punto, Punto Evo, Grande Punto Van and Punto Evo Van models." Fiat began sending out letters to affected owners at the beginning of February, the spokesman told AFP.
The autos were recalled after a problem with the anti-lock braking system was found in a vehicle, he said.
The Fiat spokesman said it was possible cables in the system may have been "pinched" during assembly and could "be damaged, provoking a short circuit."
Over half the vehicles are in Italy and the rest are in Europe, he added.

Yeah as the company spokesman said.: Over half the vehicles are in Italy and the rest are in Europe, he added. so dont think nothing for INDIA,
in international market world its a previledge to call the cars back and the owners are happy that they get the replacement FOC, and the manufacturer cares from the products after selling also. but if it was in INDIA OMG the talks will go on on on on

Yes thats well said Tony - if this was to happen in India FIAT will loose what ever customers that its getting and it will be a shop close for them easily. Hope something like this does not happen to our cars. ABS is one of the reasons for buying the Emotion Pack GP. Damn just hoping against hope.

No prob, Kailash, we the Fiatians are well educated and more matured than the other brand owners. We know the logic of call back, but others think in other way,
Thats why we are called Passionate towards FIAT.
