simple bhai ,
with this info can i go to my painter and give him the code .thats it ? perfect match?
He will take the info and do what he wants to eitherways. I have found Painters are prouder than mechanics.
He will take this info and say "iska paisa jyada lagega" (for non-hindi speaking guyz "it will cost more")
i was asking to whom would he gives this codes?
The colour code is important. There are variants in that. Pearl or Solid or some more specific Variant name (sub code) that can be read by a Standox dealer. For now I am just collecting this for reference. Lets see if and how this can be put to use.
EDIT: for example lets say colour Bronzo Scuro can have three variants. Which one exactly for India is there in the info, but needs to be confirmed by the seller if this one is Linea's exact colour as launched by Fiat in India.
last time when i been to paint shop( dealer asian paints) he was having some automated machine when i asked him for hyundai metallic grey(for alloy wheels) he done some process from that machine and given it to me.So thats what im asking if this code can be helpfull to select BNW paint from the same delaer having that automated paint machine.
See Standox is a specialist brand acquired by Dupont. A person dealing in Standox paints can use this for perfect colour matching. They usually go by their code books/colour matching books and also add some more gloss or sparkles as per their own experience, and it looks good too, but not accurate.
There are two things, one is paint for repair and other is for complete paint job. I am not aware how much accurately these dealers or resellers follow these practices. One thing I believe is Standox dealer can offer more authentic and genuine shade of colour nearly 99.9 % match that will be difficult to be matched by another system say BASF or Sikkens.
The usual practice of local body shops is removing fuel lid cover and sent to shop to match with car model, book and codes in them. They have these key cards used to match colour. How much they adhere to computer data, god knows.
EDIT: There is paint match and overall finish and effect, which is what specialist brands in Automotive finishing ensure. Standox is the best or atleast one of the best IMHO.

I will create a simple table of name with codes in the opening post and we can have that updated for quick reference. Will do soon.
That would be nice. I am wondering what key parameters apart from Main Colour Code are needed. For ex. Hip Hop Black has more variants. I will contact Standox dealer soon and try to find accurate communicable data requirements.
The panel name and form no., Variant and Colour Change should also matter. Actually this data can be downloaded in a particular file format which is read by Standowin Software which gives out a formula to reseller to mix match various bases/additives and create the perfect shade.
This is great work guys. Painstaking but with great results . Thank you all for taking this effort ......
