It seems they'll have an customisation/options list, including the red leather stuff? Of course FCA are really only just pretending to "look busy, JEEP is coming!"

The Urban Cross looks superb, as ever the styling details and proportions of the new bumpers are swell. 'tis the perfect 4m Crossover, in diesel or t-jet guise, better by a distance to the ungainly and ill-proportioned Ecosport, with better engines too, plus the touchscreen. It does look as pert and youthful as ever: man the basic Punto design is just SO good, detaling changed but the striking purity of line, and the harmony, the hanging-together of elements are superb. Plus the build, the paintwork, the lamp-assemblies, the interior materials, the MID....the Vitara Brezza's nice overall in proportion and appearance, wide and long-wheelbase but is it as good as a 'cross'over, does it have the same quality of materials and especially engineering and componentry? Of course not, and yet there is no comparison: Brezza all the way.

It will, as usual, add no net sales. Well, at least they're trying to look-busy, as they focus instead on the Jeep brand+dealership etc launches. Linea 125s, touchscreens, now this. Next up, will be the amt and/or maybe the ddct+t-jet too?

"Still ahead": in looks and in the well-composed-and-integrated-engineering and features-for-price, etc.

Means squat, though, to anyone, really. It is no wonder they're considering or have already decided (?) to quit-with-FIAT. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, just damned, indeed even worse: ignored and forgotten. There is not one possible USP that anyone in India (on average) might-value-enough to buy or recommend FIATs, old, re-newed or all-new.

Why bother, then? Just for the corporation (FCA)'s pride and branding, and for the sake of the JEEP stuff, which too may not sell-well-enough. But at least they could be exported, na? FCA needs Fiat sales in India not one jot, at this stage, and India doesn't have any 'need' or 'desire' for FIATs or their still-distinctive attributes here, either. FIAT in India is the sexiest and very-best, most-virtuous zombie brand imaginable! There are other car brands in India that are near-dead but none quite-as-gloriously as these FIATs.

    "OK, tata FIAT?"

@prabhjot- you seem to be giving up on Fiat easily these days :). As mentioned earlier, as a best case, it seems to be a correction for the inanity of the external spare wheel that characterized the Avventura, and at worse, it seems to be an attempt to clear off stocks. The latter seems to be even more possible given that they are launching the diesel car in the lower two trims.
In my opinion, they have too many models and configurations for essentially 2 low selling products. Ideally, they should have one or two trims in each petrol/diesel, almost fully loaded ( and I mean with stuff like multiple airbags, ESC) , and a special model (Punto Pure) for the taxi-wallas.
Atleast give the geniune Fiat enthusiast his money's worth!

No led & drl's in urban cross which was expected, as said this is a clearance method of avventura abarth & avventura active & dynamic models, i mean to clear these variants parts & increase their demand by decreasing demand of emotion diesel & no petrol base & mid variant in petrol
They say urban cross for urban people & avventura for tier-2 cities , then why dont they name it as Rural cross
Lame strategy or planning by FCA

The website has just 1 blacked out image of the car. Apart from that no further information, price, specification and there is button "Book now". I wonder how could one even think to book like this without knowing anything?

Yesterday called our dealer in Vadodara. They informed that it falls in Punto Abarth category rather than Punto Evo, hence would cost around 10 Lakh. They too don't have much information about it :(

    Lets see here.

We have the following now under Abarth badge

    1. Abarth Punto ( No clarity on whether this can be used in Rural areas. FCA india should make this clear otherwise the buyers will be confused).
    2. Avventura powered by Abarth(Meant for Rural Areas only). A.K.A Rural Cross.
    3. Urban Cross(Meant for City/Urban areas only)

What will FIAT india come up with next?

    a neutral review there.

I think it looks neat, better than the Polo Cross and Etios Cross.
absence of Airbags in the base versions and DRLs are bummers though.
