    Fiat's new 1.4L Multiair Turbo has been voted the Best New Engine of the year in the International Engine of the yar awards.

    The awards are organized by the magazine Engine Technology International, published by UKIP Media & Events.

    Other notable winners were:

    Green Engine: Toyota 1.8-litre hybrid

    Performance Engine: Mercedes-AMG 6.2-litre

    Sub 1-litre: Toyota 1-litre

    1-litre to 1.4-litre: Volkswagen 1.4-litre TSI Twincharger

    1.4-litre to 1.8-litre: BMW-PSA 1.6-litre turbo

    1.8-litre to 2.0-litre: BMW 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel

    2.0-litre to 2.5-litre: Audi 2.5-litre five-cylinder turbo

    2.5-litre to 3.0-litre: BMW 3.0-litre twin-turbo

    Kudos to Fiat !! Fiat internationally is a respected brand. India (as it is in many cases) is an exception !!

    Will the multi-air ever make its way to India ? I hope it does.

    Bring it on Fiat ASAP and show the Japs and Koreans what a real petrol engine should be doing unlike the kappas and k-series. Fiat's MJD is already the diesel engine of India. Now let us see if the Fiat MAT becomes the petrol carrier of the country.

    I think FIAT should not lose time to bring the MAT to India. They need not worry about the service as most engines are hardly opened up for service. It is almost fit it and forget it type.. so FIAT what are you guys waiting for.
