What a moment! Just now 10 min back saw an ad of Jeep Grand Cherokee in tv. It was a Malayalam channel Amrita tv, and was in between a musical programme called 'Duet'. The timing seems to be more oriented towards middle east viewers, and saw the word Fiat mid east too, at the end.
Any ways it was a revelation to watch the mighty butch red Jeep in all its glory among the dunes.
((A google search also returned info that it was seen last year in same channel- that was a post from site indiancarsbikes.))

Fiat must fire the person behind this ad design.They want to market the car or the word 'INTERESTING'.What a waste of space provided!!
After seeing the above post, I checked the paper and found the ad. Its on the lower half and the color combination is not good

Jokes apart, the color combination is not good. Also, a full page ad would have been wonderful
we have to shoot the ad maker perhaps fiat marketing head.
If samsung,HTC,Micromax can give full two pages add for 50K mobile why 7 Lakhs car should be half page add?:shocked
when we see the add there is no highlight of any other features apart from dashboard:hit
we can see how VW is marketing their products as below with some of them seen in the newspaper
I remember on of the add they used some music player in the last sheet when we unfolded the the last sheet it was playing the music.
Fiat should learn from VW about marketing or hire add agency used by Vodafone and tell them to come up with innovative add.
On a lighter note FIAT should hire us poor MBA's ...who will surely do a better job.......
I have doubt that whether they have any Marketing dept for FIAT India.
Fiat must certainly learn from these VW ads or rather hire them.Fiat got it wrong on most counts:-
->You dont have to shout out 'INTERESTING' with on your face approach..Its Punto, ofcourse its interesting when you see it in the gliterrati gold
->As somebody here put across of what an ad must consist - product and convey what it offers to them(consider a mango man).Blame the photography,placement,selection wrt photos of punto because it just isnt highlighting the product or the features what makes it 'INTERESTING'
->Features are mentioned somewhere at the bottom,exterior changes arent highlighted (like the new rear tail lights),interiors are shown as though it was just to fill in some space there,no mention of rear AC vents.Such subtle but significant features needs to be highlighted.
Its such a beautiful car it deserves a ravishing ad!!!
Guys, you've got see the print ad in the context of the tv and/or internet/website ads: it is a multi-channel campaign, presumably, not a one-off. So hold your fire! In any case, the VW ads haven't done them that much good, they're failing in this market too. Ads are not going to transform things for Fiat. There is no magic bullet, only continuous incremental improvements possible, mostly through word-of-mouth, I believe.
