Recently observed that our OEM HU has a features of auto shut down .
I was using the HU in my friend's punto with the ignition turned off and after about 15mins (i think) it automatically shut down

A not so visible feature is the under carriage protective metal shield unlike the plasticky, useless shields on other cars.Even if the cars scrape their belly, its only the shield that takes the abuse and not the internal parts!

Discovered this today. Am amazed by the thought process of these guys who do the coding.

As we all know, the rear fog lamp can be turned on, IFF(If & Only IF) the front fogs are turned on. And if we turn off the front fogs, the rear also turns off with them, or so I thought.

This is applicable only when the car is standstill. While in motion, if the front fogs are turned off, the rear fog continues to glow. Safety is evident is whichever minutest detail possible with FIAT.

(Which reminds me, bear this rant, a moron of a non-petrol head colleague's comment. There are already 2 Amazes' in my office parking lot and people go ga-ga over the mileage and the badge, while they were discussing Amaze's mileage, I made a point that even the Punto is capable of 20+ easily when speeds are within 100 on the E-Way. I was asked how I know that, I explained them the tripmeter, and this guy goes, oh, does Fiat provide these kind of stuff too? I just walked away with a smile)

I tried this and it didn't work for me. I have a 2012 Emotion. When I switch off the front fogs, rear fogs too go off. Is there a speed limit in which this feature works??

Yes, pdydeva. It does not work on my 2012 Emotion 75HP too. It works that way in my 2011 90HP, I will post a video soon. I was to check with Auto Freak's 2012 90HP but then it has not happened yet.

So, is that a bug fix in 2012 models?? ;)
I mean I don't find the logic convincing, to keep rear fogs ON when front fog is OFF while moving. If the idea is to warn the vehicles coming behind, so it should be for the vehicles coming in the front during fog (apart from getting good visibility). or is there some other idea behind keeping the rear fogs alone ON?
