As mentioned by J Ravi (maybe a couple of pages back), Fiat manual states that prolonged continuous use of handbrake can lead to break jamming. Hence one should avoid

Prolonged and continuous usage of handbrake for long term parking tends to make the spring lose its elasticity resulting in ineffective braking, I think.

    Overnight is fine. No worries.

Just don't do it for days/weeks altogether.

    Absolutely.
Parking overnight with handbrakes is no issues.
Even the manual mentions it not to do when parking for longer term more than a month.
Hence, have not changed the habit of parking overnight with handbrakes which is technically the correct way.

last month I noticed a unexpected cool feature. I was returning from Madurai to Coimbatore around 6.30am. I kept the AC@24C. Later after an hour I realise that the temperature of air from the central duct seems to be in just a fan mode, while the air from side vents are cooler. I was repeatedly checking the state for another 45 mins, to see my observations are right. but it sounds pretty good and innovative.

No,nothing new. If you have automatic climate control, that is how it functions. Air is circulated / controlled through vents. Try increasing the temp and you will feel that hot air is blown from bottom, through your under the dashboard vents.

Along side the hand brake lever, there are two long slots, one narrow and the other one a bit wider. Apparently these are meant for holding CD and magnetic cards. Found this is the European Version of the Linea T-Jet Owner's Manual. Credit Card kept in the narrow slot stays put. Tried yesterday :)

Srini, this is a feature explained in the European Manual. The power windows can be operated upto 2 minutes after turning off the ignition and removing the key. It will however stop, if any of the doors are opened during this time frame.

As per the manual, you should have one more related feature:

On your Desmordonic Foldable Key -

Short press of unlock button will unlock the doors. Long press (more than 2 seconds) will unlock the doors and roll down the power windows
Short press of lock button will lock the doors. Long press (more than 2 seconds) will lock the doors and roll up the power windows

Could you please check if you have this feature as well?

Can some one check with the Punto EP 90 HP and let us know? If this feature is indeed there, then it would be one more very useful, hidden, undocumented and unadvertised by FIAT features :A
