I noticed this while tinkering with my TJet yesterday. If you turn the key to a position halfway between MAR & STOP, the HU stays on. At OFF position, it turns off. This looks similar to the ACC position in Maruti 800 wherein the engine and other electrical are off, but HU is on. I have just bought my car and I noticed this with the default setup - I have not changed any settings regarding the HU.

Yes they have drive-by-wire linkages. Even the older Palio 1.9D has it.

    Hi guys!!
Today was talking to my mom via Blue and me, suddenly my dad switched off the ignition. I thought the line got disconnected, but no, u can still talk via blue and me even if the car is switched off!! That's a great feature indeed!
    Cheers.

Fiat has many such features hidden in it, The more you drive her, more you will know about her, Think even the Sales guy dont know much about the features.

anybody (heard) had ever got his keys locked inside the car . i.e you keep your engine on, close the door buy something return and find doors got locked automatically .
ps: this is one of my real nightmare.

peeped into the fuse box , there are some empty unused slots one of them reads subwoofer , what are they . anything useful ?

I don't think this is a possibility. Because automatic door lock in Punto/Linea is speed sensitive and not time sensitive. They will auto lock themselves only when the speed of the car exceeds 20kmph. Aftermarket central lockings are time sensitive and those are the ones that will land someone in the situation you have mentioned above.

Anyways, if you are keeping the engine running while going to buy something, there should be someone sitting in the car or else the chances of car jack are quite high.

If ingnition is on one can never lock the car from outside, even with spare/remote key
