@shashanknathani, yeh its true!! honda city is just loss of money thats it!!...i just cant understand how can someone buy that shit for 10lac?? just keep linea aside, even punto's top model having many stuff that honda city don't have! :thumbs down

 

Hey Yashik , I own a Figo as well, but i feel the autolock speed in Figo is better specially in indian conditions. Most of the times in traffic (b2b), the speed is less than 20 kmph. Lets say you got out of the gas station and then in to a jam, the foor would lock in figo not in Fiat (punto and Linea). So i think, the speed lever should be lower for autolock or an option to reduce it accordingly

 

That's why there is manual lock option.

What you said is right that it does not have as many features that Punto and Linea have... But i totally disagree with you that how can somebody buy a Honda City for 10 Lac... There must be something in it that people in India are buying it with proud. They don't provide everything in one car but whatever they provide is altogether of different class...

Take the example of music system itself.. Honda City's music system is altogether a different system and i feel as if i am listening to Bose music when i am listening music in Honda city. its just great.... where a i see every body complaining about music quality in linea and punto's. I am not bashing FIAT here but the point is why would anyone buy a 10lac car like TJET with such poor music quality...
Its just the matter of fact that we cannot have everything in one car... all have their own pro's and con's.... and Honda city and Linea both have some really good Pro's too...

 

Shashank, even the greatest of Honda Fans have said it is highly overpriced. So everyone agrees that there is almost a 2 lac premium for the 'H' badge. If the City was around 8 lacs, I would have completely agreed with you.

The reason City is selling because it just provides a snob value for the people who can spend upto 10 lacs for a car. You tell me, why is Jazz not selling like City when Jazz is almost exactly the same car without the boot with almost every feature being the same in both cars. Ill tell you the reason, people with 5-6 lacs of budget dont care about the snob value (if it comes in thier budget then its fine but those people are not going to spend 2 lacs extra for just snob value). Hence people with mid range budget go for other cars and that is the reason fo Jazz failing. What Honda is doing with City is not sustainable in longer terms as competitors have understood their policies and bringing products that are cheaper and better VFM (read Vento and Linea). Vento is already eating into City sales and Linea only losing out becoz of Fiat's so called flimsy reputation. This is the reason why Honda is bringing Brio as well.

So city is not selling for automotive reasons, its selling becoz of indian tradition of following the heard and show off's.
