On Johnny's query on Tyre rotation, Pls follow the Manual i.e. Replace Front tyre with Rear tyre ON THE SAME SIDE and not a cross-rotation. Following is my experience from my Ownership Report. 1st post is just after 2nd service where tyres were rotated in cross-rotation pattern:

From cross-rotation I got it changed to Front tyre replaced by rear tyre ON THE SAME SIDE & likewise. The issue of body roll/ wobbling considerably reduced & became negligible initially and now it has gone completely & my Linea is behaving the same as earlier :)

Another feature I noticed in my Fiat Linea is both the reversing lights and rear fog lamps are lit in pairs when the reverse gear engaged/switched on as the case may be, whereas in many European cars like VW Polo and even in Maruti Suzuki SX4 [Sedici connection?], only one lamp will be lit at the rear. Even in my daughter's VW Golf in Australia, only one lamp of each is lit, not both. Thanks to Fiat for providing such marvellous features at affordable price.

In my GP there are two black blower sort of vents below the front two seats. Are these AC vents at foot level for rear seat passengers? Can some one confirm this?

    arishi,

Yes. They are foot-level AC vents for rear seat occupants. The same feature is available in my Fiat Linea.

Another nice feature in my Fiat Linea: the volume of the sound system/media player gets automatically adjusted according to the speed of the car. When the speed increases or decreases, so does the volume too. There is a provision to deactivate this feature if one does not want this happen. For a change, this feature is explained in the owner's handbook!

:clapping :clapping :clapping If thats the case then FIAT needs to advertise this for Punto. I don't think this feature is present in any other Hatch in the market. Its only there in the sedans.

The stock HU starts tuning to a newer station if it sense the FM radio signal is getting weaker. I liked this feature and is good one :dancing . Never tried this in MW or LW (I am not sure even if there are stations on these frequencies

Marketing, advertisement and servicing of Fiat automobiles come under the control of Tata Motors Ltd. Fiat's job is restricted to manufacturing only. Tata Motors Ltd. - 50% JV partner in Fiat India - are adopting a low ad campaign for Fiat automobiles as they have their own competing products.

First of all: this was a very very informative write up. Kudos! so too the additions by fellow members...

My take on a few points in this thread:
    - The rear ac vents in Punto - I understand they are just inactive unlike in Linea. They are there, but doesn't blow air.
    - "The central locking feature from inside by pressing the levers on either of the front doors" - I was looking for this feature in my Punto, or in fact I was surprised when I was not able to find this feature... I have to try this today !
    - "Audio system able to play music even when ignition key is not inserted". I heard of this feature from my sales advisor at concorde. I did experience this. He added that there is some time limit, some 20 mins or so after which it turns OFF, to save battery I believe. I haven't tested this though, or I don't exactly remember if it turned OFF after said time :-?.
    - The grand 195/60/R15 profile tyres given as standard in Punto E-Pak is unseen in any other car in this segment. (Correct me if I am wrong).

    Some additions/ Questions:
    - I think we can configure, at which speed we want the door to get auto closed - if we want something different from the standard one set @ 20kmph.
    - While installing the sunfilm on the rear glass folks peeled off the Blue&Me sticker. How to get a spare one so that I can get it sticked again, after removing portion of sunfilm (or in some other way) so that it is visible.
    - There is a lot of real estate on top of the front dash, but alas it is not very flat and we cannot use it to place things over it. Of course I too have different opinions on this as it make the area look trash with all stuff spread around, but I think it would have been a nice one if it was flat or semit flat.
    - A centrally placed digital clock would have been useful.
    - Where are the temperature sensors (out side and inside) placed?
