If the said part was changed month back than you have to take car to ASS. Replaced suspension parts have warranty of 6 months.
Couldn't the TASS you went to claim warranty, I was under the impression that as long as you changed the part at ASS you can walk in into any ASS all over India and claim warranty.

I also thought so. But its always better to go to someone who worked on the car earlier to fix accountability not to say that other TASS can deny warranty as records are there in their CRM.

Sent the Car to Wasan, Kandivali today. Got to know that the issue with Ball joint or link rod. Let's see.

Any idea if link rod/ ball joint is covered under GC upgrade kit? I remember that GC upgrade kit for Linea contains 4 Shock absorbers & spring.

No I paid for these extra when the GC upgrade was carried out. Ideally they should have done this along with the GC kit.

Damn. TASS is still working on it and yet not been able to find the culprit (my driver is still there updating me). In the morning SA said it could be ball joint/ link rod but now not able to give any concrete information. I wanted the car back by today evening.

My driver & SA called. They were taking test drive of my Linea after repairs. SA said that there were a couple of nuts & bolts which were loose tighetining which removed the noise  Stupid. Damn stupid. I'm sure they would not have tightened these bolts enough at the time of GC upgrade. 80% of the issues and TASS visits are generally self-created by TASS. For no reasons, I ended up sending car at TASS and remained "car-less" for a day with an agitated customer. Neither quality of my Linea nor its parts nor driving can be blamed.

I think most of the issues that facing are due to lack of expertise of TASS people. These people neglect the issues and secondary issues generate from it. Fiat being known to this issue should do some extra training for the staffs who service Fiat cars.

The car is as silent as it used to be. No rattles, No squeaks now :)

And BTW, I enjoyed Mahabaleshwar drive thoroughly, the noise was the only deterrent. It's at those time that I feel it's ok to have the car at service station 3-4 times more in a year than required. I would be ok even if the visits are 4-5 in a year. Currently I think the average is minimum 9 - 10 visits a year.

Let's see, the counter begins now again. Fiat lost the 1st challenge.

The biggest sorry state of affairs is the schedule that Wasan SA gave me. I booked an appointment a week before. This was after Worli Tata Repair shop mentioned that I'll get the car back on the same day when I gave it to them. However, when I mentioned about GC upgrade a mnth back, it suggested to get the repairs done thro' Wasan. When I sent the car to Wasan, SA said that it'll take time and I've to leave the car overnight . Overnight? For what? I said ball joint or link rod is max couple of hours job, why overnight? He says there is too much of load. I said but I took a prior appointment, so what if there is too much of load. I spoke to Works Manager and politely expressed my displeasure that it's me who is suffering because of them and have to send car again after only a month of GC upgrade. Finally, it relented and repaired the car in a day.

But, imagine SA wanted to keep car overnight for such a smaller job and that too after taking prior appointment! Had I not insisted and not asked my driver to stay there till end, SA would be happier not touching my car for the entire day. Alongwith in-expertise, this is another issue of TASS.

That's okay by TASS standards ;)

The 6month/5000km "checkup" of our Linea took a good 7 hours!
