But I still don't understand why you can't separate out the two jobs? I had my Getz's front windscreen replaced by HASS (who did a terrible job) but I went to WE for the rear windscreen next time. They proved why they are the best!

Reason is I do not want car to remain 2 to 4 days with WE and 3 days with TASS. Insurance will take some time and during which GC UPGRADE can be done. Still, lemme see if WE can e squeezed in.

Came back today morning and picked up car in the evening.

Wi dshield is replaced. Total bill is Rs. 7695. Claimed insurance, my contribution is Rs. 2464. Bit higher than I expected. Windshield cost is only 3000- odd. Labour is Rs. 1200. My contribution includes Rs. 1066 for sealant, Rss. 500 for claim, Rs. 800 for interior cleaning 3M which I never asked for!!

On top of it, they lost the letter "I " from emotion badge on the boot.

GC upgrade done. The car is lifted by quite a margin. But I don't like the gap between rear tyre and wheel arc. That's why I wanted to avoid GC upgrade as far as possible. Kaash, the rear shock absorbers di not give way.

From practicality point, it looks superb with even huge bumps can be jumped without any semblance of worry.

Sad that left side Elastic pad also needed to change. This part is costlyat Rs. 2800 and like brake pads and strut mountings is prone to frequent change. Elastic pads are changed in my Lineaabout 3 times under warranty already earlier.

Now the car can be taken in any roads in india without the fear of underbody scraping.:D
I would recommend to take the same care in humps as earlier and avoid driving humps in speed.

There have been queries on what happened to my questioning the labour cost in Mumbai. Here is an update:

Tata official called at every step. Finally he said that they are reviewing labour costs in Mumbai as it looks high. GC upgrade labour cost is Rs. 5000/-. Though as I raised it, I was given an exception with lower labour cost. He said that they are reviewing labour cost in Mumbai which I mentioned in my email. But, I am not sure if labour costs are revised downwards in Mumbai. While talking to TASC, its so difficult to break even given Mumbai's higher infrastructure costs.

Let's see. I'll pursue this even though my case is over.

Car would not start in the evening from office. Just did not crank. Dispalying first all sorts of messages like ABS not available, airbags failure etc etc

I suspected AC relay fuse failure. Called RSA to jumpstart it. While thes was a delay, I got the car pushed to start after much reluctance. It started easily and thereafter the relauy also worked normally.

Shall get the relay fuse changed tomorrow.

Did they (RSA) delay in responding?

Did you change your OEM battery yet?
