Yeah. I was also wondering how AC gas got leaked.

For chrome strips I've decided exactly the same thing. To do it myself. SA said that new strip will be required as the locking mechanism (some small rubber bushes etc) of the old strip is broken. I decided to give it a try once I get the car back.
Your suggestion of scraping slightly on the bumper is asuper one and will be effective.

The bumper chrome strips are fixed to the bumper through a set of clips. The clips sit in the slots in the bumper and hold the chrome strip. The clips and the chrome strips are all imported, and hence, very costly. I paid Rs 4,031 for a rear left bumper chrome strip and a set of 5 clips inclusive of VAT. Here are the details:

I also expected cost of Rs. 2500 but when I asked SA he said the cost would be lower than Rs. 1000 .

I know it will be tough to fix it, the clip holes in the bbumper are bit big. will try some jugaad.

I've noticed that over the last 6 to 8 months there has been a noticeable change (which has slowly slowly crept in) in my outlook towards my Linea.

    • Earlier, I used to wax her every month. 3-4 hours of pure calorie burning. Now I never do it myself. A year after purchasing the car, i.e. in 2010 I got 3M Paint Protection treatment done with 3 free applications over a period of 1 year. Since then I've been spoiled & never taken to do the wax polish myself.
    • Earlier, I used to take car to TASS myself. Now I send driver to get it serviced at TASS.
    • Earlier, I used to stay put at TASS for the entire day observing what all are they doing to my Linea, now I end up in even letting go a few thousand rupees that the TASS charges me which should not be charged.
    • Earlier, I used to insist on every fluid that they put in must be Fiat recommended only. e.g. ParaFlu or Tutleja. Now, I do not even know which all fluid's has TASS put in.
    • Earlier, I used to take pictures of my Linea every now & then, from all the angles, when I used to stare at her. Now, there has been no such pictures taken just out of affection. This change can also be seen from my this ownership thread. Now, I do not even notice that the front bumper Chrome strip is not there for last one week.
    • Earlier, my heart cried when my driver or the car washer guy use a dry or a dirty wet cloth to wipe clean the car. I brought so many microfibre cloths, chamois, shapoo's etc. Now, I never ask. Jopasu duster is itself in dustbin, all microfibres have been shelved, I don't know when I gave shampoo to the car washer guy to wash the car.
    • Earlier, I used to see Linea as a family member. Now, slowly I think in the back of my mind, I've started viewing her as a good adorable facilitator in commuting.

I don't know how is it happening or what is causing this. Why, why, why ? :uh:confused::mad:::pP

    Ravi,

While driving, I still love her.

The difference is in small small items which shows that you really take care of her... the passion is the word I think. That's slowly reducing. I've started letting go small small items.

Your signature is apt for the situation you're in, The Italian lady will make sure you put all the attention on to her. It's happening in my case, I thought I can spend time on GTX but hell says Punto. Got ABS unavailable error and need to visit the ASC, Don't know what's this affinity with TATA ASC's.

Oh yeah. You are absolute right. Frequent occurances of unforeseen issues and resultant TASS visits are a big dampner. Dealing with all TASS's have become really frustrating. Hope the trend is reversed soon.

VP, While reading your thread I felt that it was written about me. My punto is hardly 2 years old. Younger than yours. Whatever you have said between "Earlier I used to ..... "and "...Now days" is what I used to feel. We can understand your affection to the car just looking at the 16000 viewers that your thread attracted . When we write with passion that attract more people. It is a bad luck that more problems appeared for the car. What came in my mind after reading the post have been said by Ravi.

Maybe these unexpected niggles that started arising on your car has started worrying your mind & your mind started saying that despite of taking such good care, you started giving me problems .It is only because you are so much in love with your linea & these issues are worrying you more than what it should. A simple universal law "The more you expect from someone & you dont get back what you expect in return you tend to keep yourself away from it". VP maybe the car also started feeling that you are keeping away. Take good care of it as you used to. For a change as Ravi suggested try driving some other car for sometime ;)

    More Bad News.

SA from Wasan Motors says the AC gas is leaked from Cooling Coil which will need to be replaced (under Extended warranty). Also, Rear Shock absorbers have leaked & needs to be replaced. But why was it not diagnosed in 60K kms service just 15 days back @ Fortune? Now they want the car to be with them for 3-4 days !!

Approx price for Rear Shock absorber is Rs. 2500 + 2500 = Rs. 5,000/- plus the dreaded labour.
Should I go for GC Kit upgrade instead? It costs about Rs. 11,000 + labour and comes with 6 months warranty.

AC Gas refill cost would be Rs. 2,000 !!

He also suggested that since dashboard needs to be opened for cooling coil change, why not to get AC serviced? I asked about labour cost. Obviously as expected, its Rs. 3,500/-

Should I get AC serviced @ Rs. 3,500/-?
Should I go for GC Kit upgrade instead?

Need suggestions urgently so as to get back to them.
