That's somewhat like our Palio D, whose clear coat has completely peeled off at places and looks like a sort of Hippie Mobile now. :)

    Any chemical contact/ coatings?

Nope. No chemical contacts neither had I any coating done. My Residence & Work area both do not have any chemical related pollution. I think Clear coat "stickiness" is giving way. Else I've no idea how is it happening. Hearing it for the first time that clear coat can peel off in this way. Hope it won't continue further but I think it will (from this 2nd instance).

The Palios were plagued big time by this malaise. I've seen plenty of them running around with flaked clear coats. Especially the ones which stood for long hours in the sun, like ours.

But that is just shoddy quality from FIAT. The sun is no reason for the clear coat to start peeling off in 4-5 years.

    Cheers.

My Linea is just 2.5 year "New" (not even 4-5 years)

Is there any solution? or the panel needs to be repainted as the only solution?

I think the only solution is a new basecoat + clear.

Would be interesting what FIAT have to say about this. 2.5 years is just no time for the clear coat to peel off from "age" . So the only remaining variable is shoddy quality. I reckon you take it up with FIAT firstly or with the local TASS.

The Palio guys never got any respite. Our Palio's coat has worsened to such an extent that the only logical choice is a complete exterior repaint.

I hope you'll have better luck.

    Cheers.

I am tired of raising things with Fiat. There is one which is already going on - new replaced Clutch burnt (which I paid for) to be covered under Warranty. I do not like to get back to Fiat for every other thing. Let's see if there is any more peeling off instance comes up

Last week I found coolant level half a way below minimum level. Poured some water. Have to send car to Tata Worli workshop to fill ParaFlu coolant. Also, have to get Power steering oil checked though it looks like the reservoir is full. I feel steering to be a bit hard. Clutch is making squeaking noise while pulling out.

Recently a bike fellow hit on front side of my car. Luckily it was the front tyre of the bike which hit my car. Nothing happened to the plastics. But a paint has gone from some parts. Since there was no metal contact and the collision was very small, I think the the paint shouldn't have come out. Paint quality is not up to the mark.

I also observed a small amount of coolant leak. These small abnormalities are little bit disturbing.
