I do it the same way and trust me it works perfect then.... When you press the nozzle do it on paper and then just continue on the body... this way you can avoid drops... do same with com-merge.....

Another suggestion would be to not use the tapes the way you used VP.... You might see the tape mark after you apply com-piant... and the touch will be easliy visible..

Com-Merge is nt to be put on the freshly sprayed area ... It has to be sprayed near the surroundings of that area ...

@ vahanpujari this is what happened to my car bumper few days ago, i've contacted compaint and they are telling that it can be fixed with compaint after applying some body filler or putty. do you think i should go for it or will claim insurance for repainting the whole bumper- cost 3.5k

Go for Compaint and if you are not not satisfied then go for insurance.

I tried it. Very hard. Issue is the spray button is hard. So in 1 moment, there is nothing coming out, next moment in a fraction of a second suddenly there is a full flow whichever spot it is directed at in middle of the stroking motion. Its difficult to keep the exact same pressure (as spray button is hard & even very very very small release of pressure stops the spray) CONTINUOUSLY to ensure the same flow. Secondly, the flow is so strong that even if you continue maintaining the pressure & continue the flow, you're afraid that it might start dripping. ::OO I can still say I might improve it a bit after doing it a couple of times. But I can still see only a bit of an improvement. The drop-impressions are not very large. But it can be seen in reflections & touch as the surface is not glossy finish like factory paint. The surface feels a bit rougher than factory finish. You feel that there is a faint patch on the paint & hence I might not use this on bonnet. I might use it on bumpers etc where its not visible clearly. I still want to try the rubbing compound on this painted patch.

    Dilip,

It IS to be used on freshly sprayed area. Its job is to merge the fresh paint evenly. And if you feel the paint is not so good, you can spray more com-merge & wipe off with a cloth. the com-paint will be wiped off. Check this video on com-paint site.

Following is video-2 on com-paint site:

Following is Video-1 on com-paint site. Video-2 above seems to be the latest. However, in Video-1 com-merge is applied both before & after applying com-paint. Whereas in video-2 its applied only after applying com-paint :A

I think you can try com-paint on those spots on bumper. Try on 1 small scratch first.

Nope. Trust me the spray is difficult to control or you'll have to over-spray but then the risk is of dripping. It seems you can't spray uniformly continuously without over-spray/ dripping.

Absolutely ! I was about to mention it earlier. Though, scratches on my car's bonnet are in small areas, I find it risky to try it on bonnet to avoid any patch-looking spots (there 3-4 areas on bonnet which has multiple deep scratches). Some moron has repeatedly rubbed key of sharp object on 3-4 different areas.

May be one should give one spray and wait for half a minute or one minute before applying another spray so as to let the paint dry between two sprays. This may result in no drop formation. :dancing
