There is a faint krr krrr krrr sound coming when I turn Steering. It comes when steering is more than half way turned & stops before it reaches the extreme/ full turn. What could it be? THe sound is nothing like alarm bell but still just asking.

EDIT: THinking of updating to Blue&Me v5.5 today or tomorrow. Had not taken the bait till now as I think my B&M already is v5.5 but may be earlier version. Lets see

Check the power steering liquid level, otherwise some lubrication might be required.

the steering does make some noise when turned to either of the extremes, but not otherwise. if this is your case than normal otherwise get it checked. what i notice during late night in silence is that the hydraulic steering makes quite some noise. otherwise the car could have been more silent.

I updated my B&M to v5.5 yesterday. The ODO started blinking initially and continued to blink for 2-3 minutes while I was playing music from media player. In the meanwhile I kept on restarting the car by alternating between Off and MAR position. After some 5 mins, the ODO stabilized and was normal again. I hope it does not happen again.

Updated B&M v5.5 yday night itself ::D Done. No change found.

Also tried to install EcoDrive on my PC.

I tried ot yday night from the site http://www.fiat.co.uk/ecodrive/

1st I tried to directly install it. It installs Adobe AIR first & then ecoDrive. While installing, it reboots my system without installing it. I tried several times with the same result. Then I uninstalled the earlier EcoDrive installed on my PC last year & tried to install the new version. Again the same result. Then I tried to download the file first. The file name is ecodrive.air (installer package). Tried to install it but the same result. Now I neither have old EcoDirve nor the new one

    UPDATES:

I had faced quite a few difficulties in installing ecoDrive on my PC. The details are explained in this thread -->> http://teamfiat.co.in/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1417&p=27067&hilit=eco#p27067

However, for continuity of ownership experiences, just revisiting here briefly.

My PC refused to accept ecoDrive. In the final stages of installation, PC just reboots ::OO I've tried every possible solution by trial & error. Removed McAfee anti-virus, removed all its traces, increased RAM to 1.5 GB, uninstalled all Adobe programs & its traces as I thought Adobe Air is conflicting with some other Adobe application on my PC, removed Windows XP SP3 also, uninstalled a few other App's/ softwares also. But the problem continues. I had made up my mind to format & reinstall Windows XP with a clean installation. The very thought gave me jitters as I've hundreds of app's & softwares installed on my PC & those video codecs, converters & other app's are difficult to retune to perfection. But there was no choice.

Then Vijay_Khasa came up with an accurate suggestion that whether I've Folder Lock software installed on my PC. This came exactly when I was just beginning to do trial & error by uninstalling softwares one by one. The moment I saw Vijay's suggestion, I knew this is the answer.

Removed Folder Lock & Got the ecoDrive installed. And the techie kida in me took me out at 11 pm to install it in my Linea & take a short drive to test ecoDrive :) Here is the 1st screenshot of that 1 km short drive:

Next 2 days driving to the dreaded Saki Naka traffic resulted in that Eco:Index of 76 dropping to 66 ::OO

Here's the screenshot of ecoDrive after a week's driving: (More screenshots are posted in this thread, pg 10 --> http://teamfiat.co.in/forum/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1417&p=27067&hilit=eco#p27067

This has made me feel that I'm driving an "old car ::OO . There are 2 things I'm thinking to make my Linea Like-New again :

    • My TASC visit is due in sometime now for AC kit upgrade. I'll ask the 3M guy to try mild Rubbing compound
      [/*:m:32cu8241]
    • Another option is com-paint. Have to check on how to use com-paint & what are the results. [/*:m:32cu8241]

That is real sad. Dnt know whay people get by doing these kinna Acts. It was done on my Jet as well, but it wasnt too deep. A bit of polishing made everything back to "NEW". Try that, it may work if they are not too deep. Else rubbing compound is the answer.

Com Paint looks simple to use, as seen from their description.

    Oh reaaly sad.
If it is done by very small kis aged 3-5 yrs, itmay be acceptable. But some time school n college guys are doing this. I don't know what kind of satisfaction they get. Anyway try ur best to make it shine again.
