    Sad to see scratches

Very Bad yar!!! Just 2-3 weeks back everybody appreciated your car , it looks prestine still after 30K. ( shayad doosra koi car fan apne FIAT forum me ghusa ho, tumhari car ko dekhke jala ho,aur uski buri nazar lag gayi)
Anyway it is much better that it happened with low speed and restricted to only front right portion. Good that Grill/Bonet is intact.
But again one question in my mind.
As a Padmini owner since 23 years, we have a habbit of purchasing seperate headlamp steel ring, glass or complete assembly. In case of Padmini tail lamps, orange plastic covers(top) and red bottom covers comes seperately (each costing just Rs.20/-).So cheeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaap.
Nowadays every car manuf. wants to earn more profit from spares. Fortunately now Linea/Punto spare are much cheaper than Palio/Uno.
Still I feel headlamp/taillamp only glass covers should be seperately available. If because of hit plastic body/reflector is damaged then only complete assembly should be replaced.
What will happen to your existing headlamp assembly?
It may come again with newly fitted glass!!!!!!!

I should ask them to return my existing Headlight assembly. Only thing is in Mumbai, we've so scarcity of space at home that it discourages any such idea.

Very sad to hear about it Amit, hope you get back your beloved possesion back at the earliest.
I am also having a similar problem, the plastic covering of the right tail lamp was broken a little when parking the car and I believe I have to change the entire assembly for a small crack in the covering when everything inside is intact.Iam not going for insurance claim since it should be costing under 2.5k.Point to be noted,Iam going to ask back the tail lamp which they remove from my car,so that they do not refurbish and sell it as a new one to some other customer.

    Bala,

If you've retained the broken plastic, why don't you stick it back with Araldite right now till you get it changed? Why I'm saying is that apart from not looking broken it'll also protect it from dust, rain etc.

    Amit,
The idea is good, but it's not a straight line crack/broken plastic,it's broken for a diametre of about 4 cm and has to be replaced, couldn't be stuck together and am waiting for the scheduled 3rd service due next month and reminding the T.A.S.S to purchase a tail lamp every week for the past one month, but expectedly they have not yet bought it(I knew this and that was why I was reminding them even 3 months before taking the car to them).Another T.A.S.S also does not have it stock, they simply say that they have it in body shop and not at service centre, which is hard to beleive.
It can be left as such too,but we here have a beleif that we should not have broken glass/platics at home, not a good sign, they say.

I had to be... !!! After all, Araldite saved me from an utter hopeless situation of running my Linea without Logo (I almost relented to that situation after seeing no solution until decided to go for this desi jugaad with Araldite) :)
