Finally, the philosophy which I follow of keeping the car new by claiming insurance prevailed !!!

Went to TASC & got it assessed. Headlights, front bumper are to be replaced. And since I decided to claim insurance, front right fender will also be replaced. May be the right fog grill also need to be replaced. SA was saying chrome moulding (worth 2500/-) also need to be replaced which I said no & insisted to fix the same moulding since there is no hit on it.

Front bumper - 3,200 + 4,000 Painting
Headlight - 3,800/-
Front fender = around 2500/- + 3500 painting

My damage would be 50% Headlight & bumper cost + insurance = around 4k-5k

What worried me came true. Had to go to TASC, - had to spent 2 hours on a holiday :cry: But did not leave car there. Asked for pick on on Monday. Meanwhile all insurance formalities to be completed & survey appointment to be fixed for Monday. All Parts are available ::T . I guess I'll have to remain "carless" for 2-3 days from Monday. :cry:

 

The guy is from my society only though I don't know him. I did not get charged up since he also did not say anything. he started checking damage to his car & I started checking my car. Both of just muttered why each of us did not honk? No other words. Has it been on the street, I might have got aggressive.

Actually I still think that front bumper can be repaired. SA said against it saying the the inside clips could be broken & the bumper alignment is distorted which may not be retained to its pristine condition. And heck, I decided to go for insurance. Even if I have to pay 50%, the car would return to its like-new condition :mrgreen:
