Fiat is offering big discounts on Palio

    Fiat is offering big (~1L) discount on Palio stile.
    I think they want to clean-up the backlogs. But for sure its a great chance to buy a great product so cheap.

    I really hope this is the LAST of what we see of the Palio in India. With all due respect to the car, Fiat and its owners : the car HAS outlived its age and is due for a major upgrade now.

    Why can Fiat not give these cars to SC's at a cheap rate so that they can be used as "Service Cars" or "Loaner Vehicles" ?

    its bad to see Palio facing extinction. Fiat India shud try to revieve it by renaming it and try out a new updated version. it cud be a very imp car for Fiat. Stile Multijet was a real VFM car.

    With some reasons Palio is not working now. So its good move to phase out Palio, concentrate on new model. Punto and Linea. And bring one model below Punto at reasonable price to increase the volume.

    I think Fiat Palio with refreshed dashboard and priced 25 to 30 thousand less than Figo can still work for Fiat India as people will buy Multijet engine than Figo's diesel for the value for money considration, atleast I will be the the one as I am looking for new hatch and it can never be better than this.

    i agree to cartoos. a refreshed grill , headlights & dashboard can do wonders to this lovely car. pricing it below figo shud be the icing on the cake. Palio is a gr8 car. it shud have new attractive and vibrant colors too. old Palio Stile owners shud also have the option of upgrading to the new version. even the 90 HP VGT can be plonked into it.

    May be Fiat is sensing the market. If, with limited information, they are able to sale Palio in decent numbers, at reduced price. they might think to refresh, reduce some price and continue... Just my imagination.

    If they bring it back : they should bring it back without the "Palio" name !!

    After all we are a country where all photocopies are "xeroxes" and all cold drinks are "pepsi" or "coke"

    Image / name matters - and more so in India.

    Point in case : see what Maruti did with the Versa. Exact same car with some minor tweaks here and there launched with an unfamiliar name "Eeco" and it's a runaway success !!

    Agree with Amogh... They can use these cars as Loan cars as it is most of the SC's are not able to deliver the car the same day so atleast make use of the palio as a spare car to the customer...
