If they want their small car to do well in India firstly they have to rectify their service and spares issues so that there are no reliability issues otherwise no marketin practise can increase their sales.

    Hi Team,

I have read many blogs about the small car that Fiat is about to launch in India soon; probably next year.
But then, after going through this month's Autocar India magazine it doesn't appear to be so. The magazine has listed 50 new cars that are slated for a launch in 2012 and the baby Fiat is not in that list :-(
The only Fiat car in that list is the Punto Evo.

Any idea about this baby Fiat guys that will take on the likes of the Alto and the Hyundai Eon. I hope Fiat gets it on time!

Talking about babies, Fiat is going through an impotency test as of now.

That may be on a lighter note but with crashing sales of all their cars and inventory piling up they are concentrating on moving their inventory out. You know about parking space problems for your one car right? Well then imagine parking for thousands of new cars that are not being able to be sold - have you ever thought where they will be kept if customers don't buy them?

Fiat India top guys are busy with 14 hour workdays to move all this inventory to countries like Sri Lanka etc ASAP! There is no Fiat Sri Lanka btw, it's our own desi dudes who are here and there at the same time :)

Hard work huh? In case you are car engineer or in marketing better not apply to Fiat at this time ;-)

As for Fiat’s plan for a new small car, he said the company conducted customer clinics in Delhi and Mumbai, and the inputs have been sent to the Turin headquarters, where the car is being developed. It will be launched in India in 2013.

When? Where? Does any TFI member from Delhi or Mumbai has any information about this?

For sure it's going to be the Panda.Or a facelifted Uno which would be rebadged. They cant afford to bring out a all new design only for India itself at this moment while they have small cars that are running successfully all over.If it all they do,it shudnt flop as the small car market in india is very very tight!!

As I know, few days back Mr. Kapoor cleared that there will no new launch or facelift till 2014. So i don't expect anything by then.

No new products. But, there'll be facelift for sure! And not even god will know what FIAT means by face-lift!!! May be some engine tweak or some cosmetic change or if we are lucky, expect 1.6MJD! :D

Taking excerpts from the old news. Just read the bold text.

“It will be an all-new car, nothing to do with any of our other models and will be priced aggressively. It will compete with the Alto and will have a one-litre engine,” Rajeev Kapoor, MD, Fiat India told ET. “The Uno brand has become rather generic in nature. We are still figuring out a new brand name for the car,” he added.

“The new car will be an India-specific one, made in India, made for India, keeping in mind the country’s unique terrain and temperatures. Our R&D team is working day in and day out to develop the car that meets consumers’ needs in the best manner,” he added.

Are their engineers still working day in and out? :D or Is it shelved?
