FCA India as a whole has been profitable, one of the few auto companies to be net-net profitable in India over the last several years, but then do recall that FCA India is now 2 seperate companies: one the manufacturing company and the other the sales one. The latter has accumulated losses while the former is rather profitable. And then there is the lucrative Magneti Marelli businesses too (amt-s, lighting, etc.) Clearly, all three are set fair as of now to see further, enhanced competitiveness and also net-sustained-profitability?
With compass launched, and with initial reviews and response, sales will be able to reduce losses or can come to profit. But its bit early to say. First, FCA need to win the customer's trust and then bring more option for larger audience...
Near march end there was a news of only a dozen lineas remaining in stock. It's been few months since then and approximately 50 lineas have sold out each month. Looks like fresh production has begun.
Good to hear that LINEA still gets sold albeit in low numbers. For me the key/core criteria is the DAILY touch points with CAR like ride and handling, reliability along with safety plays a key role in purchasing decision (I can still do trade off in certain creature comforts) than the ONCE in a year touch point like ASS, exclusivity etc.
Sales for August month is out. Cumulative dispatch for FCA is 2259.
Out of that, 2020 are Compass only.
As a group FCA is doing well but FIAT brand is almost non-existent now.
It's fine, if they build on the relative success of jeep, they can bring some fiats + fiats disguised as jeeps in 2018-19 or so (something like nissan-Renault)
Hope so they get the Tipo sedan along it's the Argo in replacement of Linea and Punto
I think they will bring in the Tipo which has an option of a sedan and a station wagon. Post 2020 they shud bring the Multijet II version of the MJD
There is a chance of argo and grand sienna being punto & linea replacement - as is the case in Latam . but I think not before 2019.
