This is pretty shocking.... Confused as how can the count go so very low!!! Before the Tjet, AFAIK some 1k Linea were being sold. However after addition of the new model, count more than halved!!!! :S

I have a first hand experience of why FIAT is failing. Their sales team is Pathetic. They Suck

2 of my friends wanted to book a sedan under 10 lacs.
I convinced them to have a look at the TJet even though they were was skeptical about FIAT.

I took (forced) them to VST Motors and Concorde Motors for a test drive.
Post the test drive, they were so very much impressed and gave their contact details with both the dealers to check out if there are any discounts, freebies etc. Both the dealers promised to get back in an hours time.

Its almost 25 days now and none of the guys called them back.
He calls them every 3-4 days and the standard reply he gets is "will revert to you saar".

I suggested to contact FIAT management and Mangesh to push things. Both my friends gave me a sarcastic look and they were worried that if they need to call FIAT management everytime to push things, they are not interested in the product.

They were pissed off with the lethargic attitude of the dealers. One booked the City 1.5 V MT today. The entire deal including test drive, discussion on price, discunts got over in 1.5 hours and he has made the initial booking. The car will be delivered in 4 days. The other friend is booking Vento Petrol.

    +1.
A friend's friend had a similar exp, here in Pune and as a result, Fiat lost one more customer.
I somehow feel that there should be some sort of min cars to be sold as a target, made compulsory, for every sales person - if its already not in place. You miss the target a few times and there goes your job. I'm sure such a person won't get a job at many places.

I remember when I went to Maruti and told the salesgirl that I'll come back to book after 15days (was going out). I got a call from her in 20days time. Asking when I'm coming to book the car, in between no pings as I have told her I'm going out. Another story that even before coming back, I had decided to go for Punto.

Sales follow up was pathetic in my case too. Concorde Motors (Dairy Circle, Bangalore) never bothered to call me after the test drive though I clearly stated that I would like to buy a 1.3 MJD E Pk. And I eventually bought one after some struggle. More on that here:http://www.teamfiat.co.in/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=1122.

And the sales numbers for Nov 2010 add up to 1023 (301+699+23+0)and not 1025. Two less Fiats and more disappointment. :-(

@bnzjon, nav75, skrish - Very surprising. My experience has been very good with Prerana. That guy(Anand) actually picked me up from office, went to our house(showed it to my family) and dropped me back to office.
Also after I bought the car, when the number plates came, he came to my office and fixed it. He also said he will do the same when they get my RC card and owner's manuals.
Someone from Prerana service center had called yesterday for feedback and I gave them full marks.

Is it not possible for them to change the rear leg room? I think compared to competitors it is lesser. Agree, boot size will be reduced but nothing wrong in trying that. Not all need that big boot.
One point is, no need to pull customers from Maruti or Hyundai. Try retaining the persons coming to your showroom.

It could be requirement for you, but for general public the rear are used by kids (mostly).
And if rear room is even a factor, Polo and Swift has smaller one. Only Jazz has bigger and i20 has marginal bigger.

Only 1025 units in Nov'10 is really disturbing.
FIAT is now trying their best to give best service, good quality, spares in affordable rates, extended warranty and what not.
Only where they are lacking is very agreesive marketing (though moderate advtzment in print/audio/video media)
See the systematic and planned advtz of "Etios". I feel for next FIAT car launch, similar or even better scheme should be followed. Everbody should be exicted and there should be curiosity about FIAT car launch.
Linea and Punto are having killer look and solid build quality.
Our customer's psychology is really different. It is really difficult to understand what exactly they want?
Anyway we all should keep moral high and do whatever we can. it may be like "squirrel's contribution for ramasetu"
