Seeing numbers getting back on track after dwindling for 2 months is nice.I think the strategy to bring in a new small car at lower price is nice rather than drastically decreasing Punto prices like kaps mentioned and the reason is existing customers might feel shortchanged which might dent it's popularity ratings which are already low.If there is a car below Punto people will stop comparing Punto to Figo/i10 this new car has to come pretty soon atleast mid 2011.

FIAT requires just one car which does well after that it doesn't take much time for market perceptions to change(e.g Ford with Figo). And as we all know most FIAT'ians always go for FIAT again. :dancing

Vinay i don't think there will be many T-JET's in that list.Although it was launched on 8th i think deliveries started recently plus its only available in select cities. On the other hand it's very good to see Punto doing 1300.

    october sales report
    Fiat
    Linea : 700
    Punto : 1300
    Palio : 25
    500 : 0

linea's lowest sales even after launch of T-jet.miserable condition inspite of a VFM product.
    lets wait and watch......

I feel the Linea buyers are waiting for T-Jet in other cities. Linea sales should go upto 1500 in coming months.

Punto and Linea are suffering from lack of proper Ads and promotion.

But, Punto has a wider coverage, being cheaper. Thats why it is relatively able to sell more. (1300 vs 700).

TFI MODs- Can you please clarify if it is possible for you guys to convey some tips from our side to Fiat as a collective feedback?? (even if they turn blind eye to it later) You were identified during T-Jet launch as members of Fiat forum and Fiat guys admitted that they are aware of our forum too. :anyone

May be during the Fiat factory website.

Read this comment by StarrySky in Toyota Fortuner thread at tbhp:

FIAT needs to highlight that you get features of a 20lac car in a Rs6lac car.

i absolutely agree with kaps. Punto has to be positioned properly. Fiat India is killing Punto which is already India specific. Fiat can increase the price to current levels if they bring in Punto Evo with 1.6 MJD and 1.4 T-jet. but for the moment it shud target maruti swift base diesel and petrol version for a increased volume. its time for Fiat India to build its image and reach out to the masses rather than be branded as a premium car company, only for the rich.

Linea is definitely suffering at the hands of VENTO,especially the diesel variant and it was not unexpected.Just have a look at the waiting period of 6 months for Vento,it becomes very clear as to where people are ready to put their money,of course a bigger engine and higher HP and brand image of VW helps, but if it was me I would still buy Linea even if it was today.

Bala we have seen whenever a new model is introduced the numbers go up, Vento will be considered success only if it can maintain those numbers.I have seen only 1 Vento till date on road. Also maintenance costs of VW are not yet clear we'll see if VW can make in roads after the maintenance costs come into picture.
