    1. I met up with Anand Suthar today. He has a red 1.3 MJD Emotion and I own a Blue 1.3 MjD Emotion. Man, I saw the plastics disintegrating in his car today!!! The driver side plastic is almost falling off. Add to that - the black strip on the dashboard, that's changing shape now and getting ugly.
    2. In Mumbai, Anand does not have a service center where they can fix a nut to the front driver seat as whenever he calls they are just too busy. You got to see this man!! The seat would actually come off!!
    3. He went to service his car, and he gave a pretty bad rating as none of the issues he reported were resolved. No follow ups!!!! He has to live with the problems after he's paid 7 L for a (supposedly) premium car.
    4. Name a noise and I have got it in my Punto. It feels like its a 6 year old car and not a 10 month old car. Ratan mentions a 60K run Hyundai Verna with the most silent cabin.
    5. I have made 6 trips to the SC in the past 10 months!! That's once every 1.5 months!!! Talk about a premium car.

No doubt I strongly advised my relative against buying a Punto and told him to take a safer option like the Swift DZire / another Maruti product. I wlas just being honest with him about lack of spares, lack of service and lack of quality.

So, there u go, no doubt why Fiat sales are deteriorating and deteriorating fast!!! Show me spares, some sense of service and some sense of quality and I will recommend the Punto. Until then, current owners feedback will bring it down to rock bottom.

i have been telling for so long that Punto FGT needs lowered price tags. or a new varient below Active in the 4.5- 5 lakhs category. this shud have silver console with Power Steering and AC as standard. the problem is that Fiat India prefers to sleep.

(I am totally frusrated with sales figures of Aug/Sep). Also " FIAT India and dealers all together are burying FIAT brand in India" with
    i) poor A.S.S
ii) poor promotions and lack of aggressive Advts
iii) poor interiors and niggling engine issues
iV) just 02 models punto/linea(500 is a big joke and small car in 2012 is another big joke; by that time people will buy cycles becoz no moving space on roads and no parking space)
    v) costly in each varient as compared to others

Any way as a die hard FIAT fan, I was requesting for a special color. But day b4 y'day I got sincere apology from Rep. CEO, FIAT regarding difficulties of a special color ( Electric blue/cool jazz blue in Linea).
I am really happy that at least after 2-3 months somebody heard my request and replied.
I was about to Finalize "Verna transform" in "deep ocean blue" color becoz I badly love blue big sedan. The reason is the fascinating look of blue sedan and sales guy was good, polite, soft spoken and was giving very good offer. He literly came twice to my office for test drive. Send all angle photos of blue verna by mail and what not. Even though neither my heart nor my mind was ready 4 that.
But a 4 line reply from FIAT has changed my mind and they have saved one FIAT customer.
So friends, I am going to book FIAT-Linea in black or FT Azure color in next week.
I'l proudly add +1 to sales figure of Linea in Oct'10.
As a hardcore FIAT fan I'l do a little bit Squirrel's contribution for FIAT,India

If Fiat wants mass market, these are the cars to compete with. A prospective buyer in the mass market is least bothered about segmentation. i20/Polo/Jazz has already built a snob value around them, Fiat has not, falling sales are an indicator of that. So either Fiat builds a snob value and starts providing classy interiors or invests heavily into perception management; else compete with the market leaders and capture numbers, which I think is a more plausible solution.

Swift is a maruti product and only Hyundai can aim to challenge it with i20.

Also, if Swift sold 11k units, then i20 sold 7k units as well.

Base variant of Swift and Punto have almost the same price tag but i20 starts at 4.5lacs ex-showroom.

If Fiat can target i20 and give dual tone interiors with better quality interiors in Punto even if they raise the price by 5-10k and sell the Punto 1.2active at 4.45lacs ex-showroom with current offers, it can do 2.5k units/month which is a decent figure.
It is to be noted that i20 does not have free warranty+insurance etc, so i20 base variant costs a lot more than Punto active.
