Impossible. Nobody knows a car called Linea T-Jet is coming in 7 days. Maybe even the CEO doesn't know! I can bet on it that there will not even be a small picture of the Linea T-Jet launch in national newspapers. How do Fiat-Tata expect to sell cars if people dont' know that a product exists in the market?!

Amogh, I can bet that Tata will market the Aria really well. You need proof? See how Tata marketed the BS-IV Punto and Linea v/s the BS-IV Indica Vista. Remember the Drivetech4 with Eurotech gearbox 'technology'.

Things will get worse. ACI reports that Tata is all set to launch the Indica Vista with Fiat's 1.4L 95bhp engine against the Punto's 90bhp!! Why Fiat?!?! :confused

If you dont' want to do business just shut shop. Why are you killing yourself slowly?!

Tata will market Aria very well. Tata is known as one of the best Auto marketers for quite sometime now.

I don't quite seem to understand the marketing arrangements. Fiat is sponsoring India-Australia Cricket series & sponsored earlier Sri Lanka series also. Don;t think that was arranged/ managed by Tata. The Fiat ads are very few whereas All New Indica Vista ad has already started on TV !! Is small or lack of Ad budget for Fiat working here ???

Tata has budget of 1.5cr for Aria's advertisement.
Fiat also tried, they had given to test drive to all auto magazines etc and all the programmes are aired. But they should have created some interest through other methods, to build-up on that.

The Vento is a new launch, sales will be high initially. Initial sales figures for the Punto/Linea were good.

That does not take away from Fiats sloppy marketing and the declining sales of the GP and the Linea.

They really need to be quicker with launches - it was ages after the Punto 90 HP was launched. And it's also taking ages for the Linea T-jet to be launched.

@ Amit : agree. the Drivetech4 campaign was good.

Yeah the vista will be launched with Fiat's 1.4l engine !! What a bummer.

In fact, even Tata's are struggling to keep up with competition. I don't see any clear winners in their stable (except maybe the Nano). Swift Dzire alone competes and beats ALL Indigo's combined. (in September Indigo + marina sales were slightly higher than the Dzire)

The more expensive i20 outsells the Vista !!

I read somewhere that Tata is REALLY concentrating hard on improving Fiat sales. But with Tata's coming under pressure themselves, I don't know how much attention they are going to give to Fiat.

Only 1.5 cr advertising budget for an automobile that is going to cost upward of 13 lacs ? :shocked

VW spent 6 crores on the newspaper campaign alone.

There lies the answer. Rs. 1.5 Cr budget on a "Premium" vehicle & then we're talking about Rs. 6 Cr budget only for 1 single newspaper ad campaign !!!

@Fiat - BTW what's T-Jet? Do people know about it? Do people know about whats the difference in technology & what are the benefits to the users? Its generating hypes only on forums, I don't think anybody other than forum members know about it.

Really dissapointing FIAT sales just when everybody is selling more than they can produce !!. It just shows what marketing can do

A brilliant product will remain on the shelf without marketing, and at the same time a mediocre / average product can be a super success if marketed well. Thats the story of FIAT Indias third innings in India. Just cant understand the inertia they have developed

Can someone in the group try to meet up with the guys at FIAT?. Yes , we have the right to know because we use their product and would like to be informed as to where we stand visavis their product in future./ If someone is suggesting that FIAT isnt selling because of poor ASS of Tatas, then how are TATA selling their vehicles more and more every month with the same mediocre ASS ?? :confused :confused

The Punto has excellent features, top class styling, class leading suspension, brilliant handling, proven engine. What more does a product need, to sell ??. Linea too is a top product. If in spite of the product, they cant sell, then the team entrusted to sell them needs to be disposed off lock stock and barrell..

wonder what is Fiat India upto. are they serious about selling Fiat cars or they just want to supply engines. Vista is coming with 90 HP engine and it wont be surprising if Maruti SX4 or manza comes with T-jet and 1.6 litre MJD engines. Fiat India shud clearify if they want sell Fiat cars.
