Fiat's New Products to be made Locally..
In an interaction with The Hindu, Nagesh Basavanhalli, CEO & Managing Director, India Operations, Fiat Chrysler, said, “Fiat-Chrysler is today the world’s seventh largest automobile maker. As and when we are doing more products for India, our goal is always to get to a high level of localisation.” He said that for the newer products, the company would adopt a mix of the CBUs and completely knocked down (CKD) or local assembly route. “The Abarth is an “aspirational, fun-to-drive performance vehicle, and we see an area of the market where Fiat fans will be interested,’’ he said.

Abarth through CBU? This is change in their direction from the earlier roadmap. We can't expect a price of less than 20L if brought through CBU.

Ya Abarth will imported through CBU..if demand then it will be locally manufactured in the coming years..Abarth's price may start from 12L upwards..rumours are also there that 500 Abarth will also be launched along with Punto Abarth..

ya..to localise Abarth's parts it will take much time,so first they will bring Abarth and Jeep via CBU and build a brand value in less time..Fiat's mass products which should be priced competitivley will be locally manufactured and will take little more time for development and localise parts....

Punto Abarth spotted in Coimbatore..But in Team bhp one member confirmed that it's a not a Fiat test car which was spotted in March and now..he said it's owned by Jayam Autos..he confirmed by asking someone he spoke to there..Jayam Autos has imported this car..

Fiat to Launch 4 New Cars by 2014 Including New Linea & EcoSport Rivaling Crossover.

Here is what Fiat will launch in India till 2014:
    1. Linea Classic
    2. New Linea
    3. New Punto
    4. B-Segment Crossover
Linea Classic: There is the possibility that Fiat may also limit the variants and discontinue the higher variants which are on offer. Linea Classic will be launched by end of this year 2013.

New Linea: Fiat will launch the new Linea in India towards the initial part of 2014. Apart from this, new Linea will also bring with it, the much awaited 1.6L Multijet diesel engine to India. As for petrol it will get a 1.4L turbocharged mill, most probably the same from the current Linea T-JET.

Punto New Model: We will also get to see the new Punto next year in India which will bow in towards the first half of 2014. It will continue to carry the same 1.2L petrol engine and the 1.3L Multijet diesel. However, expect better performance and an improved overall car.

B-Segment Compact Utility Vehicle: Fiat will launch a new B-segment compact crossover/utility vehicle towards the second half of next year No concrete details or a confirmation is known about this car at the moment. Speculated to have the 1.4L naturally aspirated petrol motor from the current Linea and the 1.3L Multijet diesel engine.

The products they have listed are expected to bring them the much needed volumes.
    Bring it on,Fiat!

Now this news is as Authenticated as it could be. All FIAT INDIA will launch in 2014 is "2014 Linea and Punto (Same models with enhanced GC, as per scoops, it could be another 10 mm). Their target over next 10 yrs is to keep enhancing the GC and keep offsetting it with bigger tires.

At the end of 2020, Punto and Linea will be suddenly re-introduced as a new breed of vehicles in India... Monster Trucks slayer.gif

Who is behind all this FIAT India's planning, is he throwing dice or what:A?

@ENKI I swear...the new 2013 TJet already comes with 190mm GC... How much more do we need ? :banghead:

@FIAT if you are listening, please consider other aspects of the car rather than spoiling its dynamics and ride quality by raising the GC sky high !!!
