n terms of looks, subjective as it may be, the Punto is a swan and the Fiat 500L is a gargoyle. Alright, that’s pushing it quite far but then again, we’re finding a report from CarMagazine hard to digest. The report states that the Fiat 500 series range of hatchbacks will eventually replace the Punto range by 2016 and not just any 500 hatchback, but the 500XL in particular will be what the Punto will be replaced with. If this report indeed highlights the future strategy of Fiat, we’re looking at a whole bunch of very unhappy Fiat owners and enthusiasts. In a sense, the Fiat range of the future, according to the CarMagazine report, could primarily be led by the Panda and the 500 range of hatchbacks. 2014-Fiat-500L-Hatchback-5.jpg 2014 Fiat 500L Hatchback

We already have seen Fiat expand the 500 range with the addition of the 500L 5 seat hatchback, in a bid to make the Fiat 500 more appealing in terms of everyday usability and practicality, traits that the Fiat 500 two door hatchback missed. The upcoming Fiat 500XL MPV/large hatchback is expected to woo family car buyers, the same folks who would have otherwise have considered the Punto. From the sporty Punto to the wagon like 500XL, Fiat seems to be making a big leap of faith. In a similar vein, the Fiat 500X crossover will replace the Fiat Sedici(Known as the Suzuki SX4 Crossover in certain markets). This seems like a much better upgrade than the Punto making way for the 500XL. 2013-Fiat-500X-Crossover-1.jpg 2014 Fiat 500X Crossover

The Fiat Panda series of hatchbacks are aimed at easing out the Bravo range by 2016. Given that the 500 XL will replace the Punto, the Panda could spawn a car that will occupy the space vacated by the Punto in the B+ segment hatchback space. This makes the most sense from the new strategy of the Fiat outlined above. As Fiat is making a new beginning in the Indian car market, the global strategy could eventually be adopted in the Indian car market as well. Until then, the current range of cars such as the Linea and the Grande Punto are expected to motor on as the Italian bran’s primary offering for the Indian car market.

no no totally wrong yes they have plan make 500 as brand but it will not going to replace punto since mr sergio marchionne already announced the launch of new gen of punto in 2015 or 16 and yes nw punto is not the best selling hatch for fiat...as 500 nd panda is doing their job very well spl in europe where punto sells are dropped almst 2-30% bt 500 nd panda are in prfit. Secondly 500 series will b costlier and panda will for those people who will nt able to afford the 500 series ie panda nd 500 will be new brand for fiat contain same thing like 500l will be panda xxl or somthing bt at a cheaper price.

Chances are very less as bravo is near itz end and as it is not as successful as punto or 500 so there will be no new gen bravo..again a beautiful car life is near end very dissapointing.

Damn such a beautiful car ending its life time.. May be the last batch is good enough to test on indian roads and see how it is accepted in our market. Perhaps a limited edition style. If accepted well then more shall be built or else scrapped out completely i spose?
