Better FE is okie.. If the prices of petrol would have been somewhere around 30bucks a liter would ppl think abt FE then??? i guess no... For eg check out the gulf countries... Rarely u'd find a person opting a diesel except for SUV's.. most prefer petrol :)

its only a myth these days that diesel is a dirty fuel. thanks to extensive innovations and research diesel is excepted as a better fuel than petrol. even in eurpoe diesel cars outnumber the petrol ones. Fiat has a gem of an engine in its MJD range and it shud do the best so that it reaches the common indian population. gulf countries can afford petrol SUVs but not anywhere else. Diesel engines lasts longer and is good on milaege too.

Diesel will remain cheaper than petrol for atleast for few years more, because of subsidy it enjoys from the Government and FE it offers better than Petrol cars, Therefore diesel cars will be attractive for few more yaers to come.

Traditionally Europe has been the diesel capital of the world. State of the art diesel technology , high fuel prices & people driving more through the year thanks to the fantastic autobahns / autostrada's resulted in a surge of diesel car sales which at it's peak was at about 51%.

Thanks to improving petrol technology like TSi, FSI , T-Jet & Multiair petrol's are making a comeback in Europe and socking it back to the, till now, better petrol engines from Asian car makers.

What's cooking here? Well the Linea T-Jet is just around the corner. Punto is next in line? :dancing
