i agree .
fiat engines should be ranked no.1 by now.
fiat cars punto and linea are brilliant vehicals but for the shoddy after sales service they are hesitant to roll on in market.
Let them campaign that Fiat Rules again, Engine tested and running in Dzire,Vista,SX4-diesel, Vista, manza.....
The wind will blow in favor of FIAT
The question : what Fiat to buy for someone upgrading from a Linea is answered by Freemont.
Fiat should forget about the Bravo for 20 lakhs and focus on the freemont. Price it against the Fortuner with the 2.0 MJD 170bhp engine with 4X4 and all the goodies and it should do good.
However, they have to go at it alone with the Freemont. Set up Fiat exclusive dealerships & service center's and give people a genuine premium ownership expereince. What Fiat needs to do is sell the Freemont at Fortuner level but give Lexus levels of customer service.
Get two things right though:
- Interiors. From the looks of it, it sure looks smashing both in design and quality but please retain it for India!
- For God's sake sort out the Italian ergonomics. Please don't try and fine tune the American ergonomics which surely is way better then Italian one.
that seems very interesting point. i was wondering what kind of buyer would bravo attract? bravo doesn't suits the taste of india presently and ofcourse it is too late.
there comes freemont. this is right time. where in most people in india are transiting from super small segment to suv's .apparently india is short of feature rich suv's except for 25lac+ segment.
When our country needed economy vehicles, FIAT gave performance cars like 1.6 GTX and now country is flooded with super sports cars and they are rushing to take their pie and what FIAT is doing is exactly the opposite.
Just get 1.6 MJD, and Freemont as a CBU instead of Bravo. Give TJet on Punto and for the visibility a car without crash test and safety features under 3L in the SPARK segment.
