If Mr. Nagesh to be believed, there will be 6 new products that we haven't any clue FIAT launching in India. So far there is talk about Grand Cherokee, Jeep Wrangler, FIAT 500 Abarth are coming in India sooner or later. Linea, Punto & Avventura is a reality so what we are left with? May be UNO or Panda in entry level, Bravo in luxary hathback or any D segment sedan, Freemont in SUV, Doblo in MPV. This will complete the FIAT portfolio in India but to launch these many products, Fiat needs to achieve a lot from their current range of products.
I wish these cars come to India so that when I upgrade from Linea T-Jet, I will still be a TFIan.

Thanks Ravi for posting this. :)
Mr. Nagesh has given a brief on the Sales/Service strategies and PRM, even though on a higher level, nevertheless reassuring for existing customers and the probable ones.
PS : I would have preffered him not to have driven the car for the entire interview session, rather the interviewer cud have, if they wanted to do it completely in the punto. He is seen searching for words, temporarily wanting to focus on Driving in Indian Roads :).

I believe after checking the message from Mr. Nagesh you are able to identify what is rumore and what not ( like compact linea sedan, new punto again,1.5MJD). So please stop friendly fight for 1.5 MJD or Linea/punto makeover again.

So as per his view, I assume 1.6 MJD will be import first and will come with Renegade & Viaggio. So no 1.6 for linea.

In entire conversation the CEO didnt look confident about there premium product New Linea.
Every time he talked about new launches it was EVO, Avventura and Abarth.
Overall it shows that new Linea was indeed half cooked product and that why it has fallen flat on sales chart and CEO was trying to put that under cover by not bringing it into discussion topic. I guess FIAT have to do quick operation to make Linea survive, have to fuse in 1.5/6L as well has to bring back the classy look of linea. Or else it would be a dead meat.

There last two operations on Linea where failure, the "Classic" version or the stripped down version really diluted the Product image.
I am not sure if I should suggest Carrots or Almonds to FIAT heads to understand and realize how premium brands are built. On the one side they moved out of TATA to make there image as premium brand and with JEEP and Chrysler cars coming in, on the other end they decided to dilute there premium product image in the market. In order to make few more quick money from sales of cheap cars they have lost very costly brand image.
Whats more foolish is that they cant even learn from others mistakes, Ford Fiesta died of because of dilution of its image with Classic version. Learn from HONDA, Toyota etc who when launch a new version, ensures that it adds to the image of existing brand and they dont keep versions like "Classic". Other simple example is Wagon R String Ray, died off because regular wagon R was also available for option. No matter it had a long success story but if a company makes blunder like this a successful product will also die.

Abarth on 500, well its like giving viagra to a dead. Nobody cares of 500 in India and Abarth on 500 will be just like a show piece, killing two brand at one shot. Abarth on Punto and TJet justifying indian pockets, will create a new segment in indian market which is currently being served by custom tunners. With young and dynamic country, speed and performance is one thing that current era generation will demand and would be willing to put in money. Target should be this young generation and not the oldies who have big bank balances who would buy it just for collection and not the real experience.

That is clearly a good message regarding what's up for us. And one more thing I've noticed is that EVO is just looking awesome!

The thing with this interview is most the words were already told by himself on other interviews. Nothing different or nothing new he mentioned. I wonder what should I take away with this.
I wished he should have been asked more questions.

At least Nagesh is interacting with the one of the leading media who have been pulling Fiat down over the years. So I feel it was a good step.. Auto car will still write that the Punto steering wheel position is not ideal and is kind of on the chest. But with the same steering, Puntos have crossed one million sales all over.I dont understand why they keep harping on it. The latest Avventura test drive also has the same comment.

Mr. Nagesh was repeatedly telling about brand Fiat and it's legacy in India. I think except the Fiat lovers and Automobiles enthusiastic, Fiat is a regular car manufacturer for others. Nobody knows that Fiat owns Ferrari, maserati, jeep, etc.

It was the same case with Renault, but they have build their brand by duster, and selling 3000+ cars every month with lesser sales and service point than Fiat.

So, I think brand can be build by great new product, not by promoting the same product again and again.

People are aware of the FIAT and his co-companies,
But at the same time they are like following the HERD MENTALLY and are envy on Fiatians
