As per official Press Release from FCA India

Mumbai, February 2, 2015 - Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) India today announced the appointment of Kevin Flynn as the new President and Managing Director for India Operations.

This appointment is effective immediately. Flynn replaces Nagesh Basavanhalli, who left the company to pursue other interests.

Flynn is a veteran of the automobile industry with 30 years of international and multi-brand experience. He joins FCA from Jaguar Land Rover, where he served as Managing Director of Jaguar Land Rover South Africa & Sub Sahara Africa.

Flynn will be responsible for strengthening the overall sales of the Fiat brand in India and the new brands that will be introduced in the country. His role also includes the management of service, parts and customer care across more than 132 dealerships in 98 cities across 24 states in India. Fiat will be introducing the Abarth brand in 2015, which will have its own brand identity.

Commenting on the appointment, Mr. John Kett, Vice President and General Manager, APAC Operations, FCA said, “Kevin is a strong, strategic and dynamic leader with the ability to shape brand and business culture. With his breadth of experience and focus on customer experience, we are confident that Kevin will drive FCA India into the next phase of growth.”

Mr. Flynn, here's to you!:) All the best, FCA India.

Ex-of Jaguar Land Rover, S Africa? i.e., FCA's clearly going to be pushing Jeep (and, in a minor key, Abarth?) over the next couple of years. And, hopefully, going to adopt a 'go-premium', less mass-market branding and product-specification strategy for Fiats (t-jet-s etc?)

Hope this brings some fresh changes to Fiat India, which it badly needs to survive. Seems his tenure to JLR in South Africa is pretty impressive.

I was talking to @adit today and he was mentioning same.

Believe me or not ! Kevin Flynn was chosen to make Lexus' foot print in GERMANY !! And none needs a mentions when he is chosen to intro an automobile brand (predominantly an performance oriented brand) in a market like GERMANY... Hope Mr.Flynn turns the performance hysteria in our country with suitable products in favour of his company. All I expect is a hot hatch with a 1.6 Multijet Diesel & 1.4 TJet. If he can deliver this with quality fit and finish (atleast to the Evo standards), we'll have good company on our roads. Fingers Crossed !!
Just to add, Nagesh was typically conservative and wanted to retain the engine business rather than an active competition !

Finally a silver lining for Fiat India. Good to know that an industry veteran has been roped it to lead Fiat India. Hope the Fiat strategy for India operations is robust under Mr Flynn and the brand gets a strong hold in the market scenario.
