Fiat has announced the pricing for the Bravo hatchback equipped with the 1.4 MultiAir Turbo engine, which delivers 140 hp and a maximum torque of 230 Nm.

The car’s powerplant uses a new six speed manual gearbox that has been engineered to offer improved fuel efficiency without sacrificing performance.

The forced induction unit returns a fuel consumption figure of 5.7 liters per 100 km, being more frugal than the previous 1.4 T-Jet engine, which needed 6,3 liters for 100 km. The engine’s CO2 emissions have also dropped from 149 to 146 grams per km.

The Fiat Bravo 1.4 MultiAir Turbo can be ordered in one of the tree versions available: Dynamic, Emotion and Sport, with the models starting from a price of EUR19,700, EUR20,700 and EUR21,700, respectively.

The 1.4 liter Multiair Turbo engine is a follower of the downsizing trend, using both the MultiAir electro-hydraulic management of the inlet valves and a turbocharger to offer a high level of efficiency combined with performance.

The MultiAir technology relies on the direct control of the air intake, for each cylinder and stroke, without using a throttle valve. The technology cuts fuel consumption, as well as CO2 emissions by up to 10 percent, while offering a power premium of up to 10 percent and boosting torque by up to 15 percent.

The 1.4 liter MultiAir Turbo unit offers power outputs between 135 and 170 hp and can be found on the Alfa Romeo MiTo and the Giulietta, as well as on the Fiat Punto Evo, Abarth Punto Evo and on the Fiat Punto and the Lancia Delta.

Can we taste the 140 hp Multi Air Engine on a Linea in the near future? Will start saving every penny for that gem among jewels.

I think Fiat will take some good time to bring Multi air tech to its Indian offerings. And I honestly hope they will do so at the earliest. Not just the Multi air tech itself, I just hope they bring in more powerful engines to its Punto / Linea range so that there are more choices and will fulfil every enthusiast's thirst.
Honestly the Punto cries for more power. And with power, I suggest Fiat should make the suspension more sportier rathen than the current soft nature.
The fiat siblings will THEN be India's first true Performance/Mass market choice.
