Credit goes to the knowledge sharing at TFI. TFI has educated us all about our cars so much that in many cases, we know more than what the technician knows about our FIATs.

And with "5 Speed Manual FIAT C 510 with improved gear ratios". The last four words are significant.

I bet - this will never be launched in India. Imagine the cost of Vista if launched. Who (self conscious persons) will pay premium for a car which is manufactured by Tata?

But tata is desperately want to intrude in to levels that it cannot achieve without Fiat. Just for brand building. If Tata comes with this engine, Maruti will fit the Kizashi engines in swift.

Great News ! Atleast the purchase expereince will be really good, which is absent today because the customers for T are mostly for taxi / travel agents !

THE BIG NEWS FINALLY HAS ARRIVED

Fiat and Tata to re-align their Indian joint-venture - Press release Fiat Spa >
Fiat and Tata have agreed that, in order to further develop the Fiat brand in India, management control of Fiat’s commercial and distribution activities will be handed over to a separate Fiat Group owned company. Currently Tata Motors has been managing the distribution responsibility of the Fiat branded products in India through joint Tata-Fiat dealerships.

As part of the growth plans and in order to provide greater focus on the Fiat brand, Tata Motors will hand over the distribution and service responsibility for Fiat cars in India to a Fiat Group owned company being formed for this purpose.

It doesnt specify any timeline for these things to happen. The statement also says it will encourage existing TATA dealerships to form the foundation of future dealer/service network. Same wine differently bottled?

I honestly do not think so. What I understand is that Fiat will encourage the existing Tata/Fiat dealers to set up an exlusive Fiat Showrooms. Now the sales executives might not recommend you a Vista or Manza anymore. Also the dealer will be pushing more cause no sales means no income to them aswell.

There is a new exclusive dealership of Fiat coming up in few days at Hyderabad. The showroom is almost ready according to my sources.
