    Greetings All!

Have just come back from US and it is really difficult to miss fiat brand there. The TV is filled with fiat 500 & abarth adverts. Every channel, almost every commercial break shows the Italians coming to US. Also McDonalds drink cups have fiat adverts. Totally amazing brand placements.

Now why can't fiat do similar stuff in India. If fiat starts to advertise its cara efficiently then the Indian story will be a very different one.

It is the same story in Europe as well. Fiat is one of the popular European brands and they advertise like crazy for all their brands.
We are yet to see that kind of aggreseive marketing in India yet.

Maybe FIAT views India as a 3rd world country & doesn't want to invest anything more over here. Otherwise how could one explain - no advertising to speak of, no new models in last 4 years, no excitement in the market.

Reason is simple : the ROI in western markets is superior. You will be surprised to know that advertising in India is expensive than advertising in western countries. Also the profit margins in western markets are high (which is actually the reason why they get a better ROI)

Advertisements are not the key for Fiat in India. They have to start from the ground up. Invest in dealerships and dedicated service centers. Hyundai today is reaping benefits of the investments they made 10-15 years ago in dealership and service centers.
