    Happy Diwali to all.

The tyres of my punto is nearing its life and I plan to upgrade them plus also from steel to alloy, and needed few suggestions. Also, as now the car is out of warranty, I was planning to upgrade the ICE as well.

    • Looking at the EV trends and fuel price, do you think, its wise to spend 60-70K for a 6 yrs old car?
    • I was planning to upgrade to Momo 15' Alloys and Yoko S Drive 205/55 R15 tyres? Any feedbacks or better suggestions?
    • Also, I need to badly move away from my stock ICE ( NO USB, NO BT ) to a better ICE, with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay + BT + USB and if possible with a display. Please suggest.
    • Any good dealers for the wheels and ICE?

Yes. First and foremost, you can't get another car like a Fiat in this price range.
Spruce it up to your wish and feel something new again, which will help you to overcome the thought of EV trends affecting your Punto.
    :joyful:

I think it is better to stick to stock tyre specification. 195/60/15. It gets 117mm side profile vs 112mm of the size you want to upgrade to. That is more cushion to your ride, although not much.

A known person has used Woodman brand on his Evo.
Attaching Installation PDF here. He did it himself.
    May be helpful.

    Hi @all,
I did some research and looks like we can also install
    1. Sony xav-ax 8000
    2. Blaupunkt BC DH 2.1 Reverse Camera
    What's your thought on same?
Also, do we know, where I can get the wiring coupler and other things, if I plan on DIY?
Else, any good Bengaluru shop, who can install without cutting the wires?

Yes all Sony xav are single din, and can be installed in Fiats.
Did you check the Woodman HU.
Advantages of Sony will be sound quality, warranty and product life. You can also remove and install it to another car afterwards whenver you upgrade from your Punto.
I installed Sony xav 1500 last year. All couplers are included with the HU. I remember getting only one coupler from the accesories shop that was compatible with the Mahindra and Fiat cars. Whatever needed You'll be getting easily from nearby shop.
For the steering controls, I got the interface from Motorogue.in
That interface had the coupler which I had purchased seperately before.

Would suggest to compare all the features from the Sony line-up before getting the high end model.

Yes, I did, but they are all android based, I was more interested in Android Auto/CarPlay and a good ICE with good audio for calls and music.

I have the same thoughts, hence Sony.

Was this a DIY? Do you have the steps?

Sure, will do more homework and see, which suits more for my requirement. Any suggestions? Main reason was the tilt adjustable, else all other models have fixed Display Unit.

@gpunto75 , does it make sense to order single din Fascia

    Hello @pra.agar

I did the installation at an accessories shop, since I'm not too expert in electricals/electronics. (On a lighter note, I just somehow managed to get 40 marks in both the subjects during my engineering degree.)
Tilt function will be a pleasure to have, since Punto/Linea both have the head unit slot at a lower height, if you compare it with recent vehicles.
I too got the single din fascia from the 99rpm.com website. This will be required if your screen doesn't cover the width of the slot. Boodmo will take atleast 3 to 4 months for the delivery.

My opinion is that you opt for a model that is least priced for the features you desire (you may decide on the tilt function), and use the remaining amount for a dashcam + tmps.
I'm too thinking of getting Viofo dashcams & sky shop tmps. These have good reviews.

@gpunto75 - there is a Pune based Dashcam manufacturer named ‘SafeCams’ . You can check that as well. I have front /rear dash cam from them. It’s hard wired.

I have lastly ordered Sony DSX A416BT, I did discuss with people and they said Sony 8000 will not be a clean fit look and will come out, and all big screens one will be same, and in Single Din, the only option I could see was Sony DSX A416BT.

Now the DIY needs to begin, looking for the coupler, if any one knows, which can be used, I currently have Default Delphi Stereo and need to look, if I need an additional coupler between Fiat and Sony.

    Any help on the DIY?

    Congratulations.
Touchscreen with reverse camera would have been the much needed feature. This was the only reason I got the touchscreen HU.
