Ferrari has revealed its new supercar at the 2013 Geneva motor show, and it's called LaFerrari.

    3:00PM GMT 05 Mar 2013

The new car is powered by a 950bhp petrol-electric hybrid drivetrain. It can accelerate from 0-62mph in less than 3sec, from 0-124mph in less than 7sec and from 0-186mph in less than 15sec. Top speed is in excess of 217mph and production is limited to just 499 models.

The Italian manufacturer boasts that LaFerrari represents the pinnacle of its technology, but that such technology will filter down to other models in time. In particular, it means the hybrid system, know as Hy-Kers, which makes "full use of the Scuderia Ferrari's F1 Kers know-how".

Unlike the McLaren P1, which also makes its debut at Geneva in production form, the Ferrari does not feature a fully electric mode (Ferrari says it would not "fit the mission" of this car), meaning CO2 emissions are 330g/km (in the P1 they are less than 200g/km). However, it says the system could be adapted to include an electric-only mode on future cars.

LaFerrari, the new limited-edition special series car from the Prancing Horse, has been unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show 2013. The HY-KERS system and a carbon-fibre chassis are just two of the innovations sported by the new arrival.

0-100 under 3 secs is pretty normal in today's sports-cars with lot of turbo's stuffed everywhere, but no way a possibility for a naturally aspirated car. What is most astonishing is it's 0-200 in less than 7 secs. This is the fastest car in this category by more than 1.5 secs to Buggati Veyron super sport version. That is some savage & huge gap! Unbelievable feat for a naturally aspirated engine just with 6.3 ltrs vs trillions of turbo's installed with double the engine size in other cars:D. Handling & control was by far the best in it's category! The screaming of it's engine is sufficient to scare the kids in a nearby town.

Awesome add featuring 4C, Alfa's return to US later this year,
Without heart, we would be just machines.
