The Fiat Linea got its midlife facelift earlier this year, following which it began exploring European markets. Last week, Fiat launched the refreshed model in Greece.

The facelifted Linea debuted in Turkey earlier this year. The car gets few upgrades both on the interior and the exterior.

The front fascia of the car has a new grill with horizontal slates which sport lots of chrome. The front bumper also underwent a thorough redesigning and gets a generous serving of chrome near the lower air dam area.

The side of the car escaped the surgeon’s knife while the rear gets a few changes as well. The license plate is relocated and now holds the pride of place on the boot lid. The rear bumper now has a thick chrome strip running along the width of the car and the absence of the license plate is compensated by black diffuser.

The dashboard gets a completely new center console which looks much better than the old fashioned unit of the previous Linea and sports a black and white dual tone finish.

The Greek Linea is available only with the 1.3 MultiJet diesel engine which we Indians are very familiar with. The power output of the VGT (Variable Geometry Turbine) equipped motor is increased to 95 bhp while the torque dropped down by 9 Nm to 200 Nm. However, the peak torque comes at 1,500 rpm which is 500 rpm earlier than the previous car thereby improving the driveability of this motor.

The Fiat Linea is priced at € 14,600 (around Rs. 10.43 lakhs). The car comes with four airbags, front power windows, powered mirrors, AC and music system with USB and steering mounted controls as standard.

Fiat India is in the process of setting up independent showrooms across the country. The launch of the facelifted Linea in 2013 would be a step in the right direction before the all new Linea drives in later in the decade.

The interior looks much better, probably Panda inspired? But no engine change? again reviewers will start moan about lack of power.
  3. Front looks like a baleno.

  4. I love the Audi-type Grille in Linea which is missing in the new one. The gear knob, climate control buttons are the same. Have a look at the Music system.. Hope it is getting an upgrade..!!

Did not like front grill. Linea design is timeless and there is no need to mess with it. Change/ improvement can be done in many other items.

Just like GC upgrade kit if Fiat manages Interior-upgrade kit - it will be awesome :) but no manufacturer will do that as it will be quiet a task technically and also it will not solve the purpose of launching the facelifted one.
