    I'm facing the problem of erratic fuel gauge since last year in my Punto 1.2. I was used it as the meter always used to display 10-11 ltr less. But recently when I gave the car for servicing the problem got more weird. Now the meter shows 3/4 fuel in the tank but the low fuel lamp is glowing. The Service center guy told me the gauge panel need to be replaced and cost will be Rs.13,500/- + Servicing charges. I didn't went ahead for the replacement. I guess I need to check with another Service Center. Can anyone please suggest me the service Center in Thane where I can check the issue.

    @nmp

    FASS will just suggest a replacement.
    Please check with a gauge/cluster/meter repair guy from your area.

    If it is cluster, and un-repairable,
    The whole cluster can be replaced around at ~10K for new from 99rpm.
    Or you could just search and find a used one at about half this cost.

    Fuel sensor and gauge in the cluster are being doubted here.

    OP says even when gauge shows 3/4th of fuel is left, low fuel warning is being thorwn. My doubts are more on the gauge/cluster hence.
    Only a careful observation/fact finding will help to identify the cause.

    Easiest thing to do is to check with a working cluster at FASS /FNG and see if the fuel level changes in both.
    Alternative is to get examined by a meter/cluster repair guy, who can check on the cluster.
