Engine Oil Change- Selenia or any other synthetic

    New issue noticed...After the service whenever i start engine after idling it for long hours .... i have observed smoke coming outta exhaust....is this normal behaviour ? especially in the mornings...

    Let me know if i have u check Engine oil Levels.

    No its not coming when engine is hot. Only when ignition is on in the morning.

    then dont give a thought,smoke is common for diesel engines.

    No need for flushing.

    This Mobil 3000 should anyday be better than the Selenia. Can you find Castrol Edge Turbodiesel 5W40 there?

    It's another alternative and kind of top of the line from Castrol for diesels.

    Well, go for an oil which is specifically for a diesel engine. Diesels produce way too much soot and consequently need an oil which is optimised to carry large amounts of it.

    And it's better to stick to the recommended viscosity of 5W40. 0W40 makes more sense in a place like Kashmir during the winters. :)

    If nothing else, just run Selenia (if you can get it over the counter) for half the recommended interval , i.e. 7500km's. It's not a bad oil and should easily do 7500km's.
